What if I have followed all these instructions carefully and the top side panel won't power on. I even purchased a new top side panel and that didn't power on either. Is there something else I can do to troubleshoot? Or should I replace the control panel all together?
If the old topside was dead and a new topside is also dead when the hot tub is powered up and allowed to stay on for at least 15 minutes, first part to check is the small fuse on the circuit board for the transformer. Can be in different locations depending on the spa pack model.
I cannot remove the value with ease. When I put the wrench on the back and try to remove counter clockwise it will not budge. Any suggestions pls?
If the seal at the impeller has been leaking for a while, it can be difficult to remove the impeller. If the corrosion on the shaft is bad enough, the impeller may not come off in one piece, it may have to be broken off into small pieces to expose the brass nut inside the impeller. Once the brass nut is exposed, a socket can be used to thread it off the motor shaft, at which point the motor shaft will need to be inspected to ensure it's still in good enough condition to work with a new impeller and seal.
@Poolandhottubdepot if I put some ww40 or equivalent on it to help break it lose would that maybe work. Thanks
@@DeanScabar If you can get it go into the impeller sleeve far enough that it reaches the brass nut, it should help.
@Poolandhottubdepot well I'll give it a shot and let you know how it all comes out.
Hi, can you please explain the difference between SKU: 59303 and SKU:59304? Thanks for your help.
According to Balboa, the 59303 is for the North American market, and the 59304 is for the European market
Thank You!!
Excellent video. Thanks
Even though there was no sound for me. This video made my job easy! Thank you so much!
I have the same set up but a different controller. I have new pump, heater, motherboard and it gives me a flow error. I have tried everything do you know of possible solution?
I have this and it doesn’t work. It keeps disconnecting and it is nearly impossible to get it reconnected.
Do you need to configure the dip switches prior to entering test mode?
Unlike the Balboa VS series, the BP series is not configured by the DIP switches except for limiting amp draw to ensure the system full load amp draw for the heater and pump(s) is not more than 80% of your GFCI breaker amp rating. The DIP switches for amp control can be set anytime. For the rest, the BP7 is configured in the software, which can be accessed by putting the system in test mode with DIP A1.
Ok so I have program 1 but when I use it my pump does not run with my heater I'm not sure how to fix this we have 2 2 speed pumps 1 cir pump and a blower right now I put it on program 6 but I'd like the circulation pump to work any idea why it would do this?
@@wildeyebilly1008 It would need to be set to setup #1 for 2 x 2-speed pumps, a blower, and a small dedicated circulation pump for the heater. Second, confirm all the pumps are plugged in the correct place: Pump # 1 is in J9, Pump #2 is J1 on the expander board, the blower is in J14, and the small dedicated circulation pump is in J21. What size is your GFCI breaker, and what KW is the heater? What are the high-speed amps on both 2-speed pumps?
@@wildeyebilly1008 Set up # 6 tells the system there is no dedicated circulation pump. It will task the #1 2-speed pump to run for heating and filtering at low speed.
I am in need for the same setup with the same equipment. Looks easy enough. Where are the dip switches set after you exit and put #1 back in the off position? From the factory, # 2 and 3 are in the on position. All others are off. By the way … good video. Explained much more than my instruction book!
DIP 2 & 3 are for controlling amp draw. Before turning on DIP 2 and 3 it's important to do an amp load calculation to ensure the total amp draw is not going to overload the breaker. Dip 2 on allows the heater to stay on when #1 pump is running at high speed. DIP 2 on allows the heater to stay on when pump # 2 is running at high speed. Take note of your GFCI breaker size and whether the heater in your BP7 is 4kw or 5.5kw. A 4kw heater draws 16.7 amps, and a 5.5kw heater draws 23 amps. For example, a 50 amp GFCI breaker at 80% load per NEC can run up to a 40 amp load total. Take 40 amps, subtract your heater amps, and that's what's left to run both pumps at high speed. If the total amps of the heater and pumps combined are, more than 80% of the breaker rating, then DIP #2 needs to be turned off; if less than DIP 2 can be on.

Don’t buy this junk. It doesn’t work
If I wanted to read about the features of the Maytronics Dolphin Active 20 I wouldn't have bothered with the video.
Thank you so much! This was just the information I needed.
Is it beneficial to schedule a spa to be at ready temp every day 8pm-12pm and let it be a little bit cooler rest of the day and night? Or is it only beneficial if you want it to be cooler for mon-fri and ready temp only on the weekends? I wonder if it has smart functionality so that it can be programmed to somehow take advantage of free solar energy that solar panels produce during the day?
See the manufacturers features list : www.balboawatergroup.com/ControlMySpa
Does this app work with the old Balboa WiFI Modules?
It only works with the Current generation ControlMySpa Ultra WiFi Gateway for BP7 Systems : www.poolandhottubdepot.com/balboa-controlmyspa-ultra-wifi-gateway-for-bp7-systems/
This is junk and waste my precious time!!! 90% of time will not connect
Why have an adapter hardware ....... why not just have Spa discoverable by Router. For example my BBQ simply connets to my WiFi access points, my phone then has an App and I can control anywhere. Having hardware taking up a router port is out of date approach.
This system also allows the dealer or authorized spa service company if access is granted to access to the spa control system to assist with troubleshooting remotely if the spa malfunctions.
Agree with that,, Most people are gonna have a issue with a hardwired location that the unit can reach outside to the spa,,, mine is fine but I have hardwire connection on the other side of the wal from spa and only get 54% signal with the propriety wireless module.
Just ensure the string between the two transmitters is taut otherwise they won't be able to communicate with each other.

The Waterway wet end P/N 310-1510 comes with the impeller and seal assembled inside, the replaced seal P/N is PS-3865R.
@@Poolandhottubdepot Thank you for the info. So, to confirm, if I order P/N 310-1510, I won't need to order P/N PS-3865R separately, correct?

Can this model be connected to an external heat pump? Thanks
It cannot be connected to any regular heat pump. It does however work with the Gecko brand in.temp heat pump if equipped with RS-485 communication port which most of these 2018 and newer have in North American market. www.geckointemp.com/specs
@@Poolandhottubdepot Thanks, the problem is I don't see any of the gecko heat pumps in Australia and from what I read most likely also don't have the RS-485 communication ports as standard in the already built spas.
There are a lot of nozzles in SPA pools. Have you ever had cases when one of the nozzles passes water through the seal. What to do, how to determine which one and how to troubleshoot?
Are you referring to a leaking jet in a hot tub?
@@Poolandhottubdepot No outside, there is a puddle under the SPA and the water has become noticeably less. My pool has 47 jets!
@@viktorius5568 You would need to investigate, the leak could be coming from a jet body gasket, pump seal, heater gaskets, water backing up into the air valve(s) or a plumbing joint.
Yes, it's understandable that somewhere passes, for two months, 100-150 liters of water. Noah can't find it. Is there any way to seal it with silicone?

Why do you need to program? What if I just turn it on and turn it off after two hours? There is a possibility?
No need to program if longer filter cycle is not needed, Filter cycle can be changed from the factory default of 1 - 2 hour cycle every 24 hours for the Balboa BP series for heavy use spas that need more filtration. If you turn the jets on they will only run for 15-20 minutes because they are on a timer. For filtration the pump comes on as programmed and runs the length on the programmed filter cycle.
@@Poolandhottubdepot Did not know. What if I tried to set a different time? Is it possible to revert the entire program back? Thank you very much for this information!
@@viktorius5568 You can change the filtration cycle start time and duration if you like but there is not a reset set button to change it back, you would have to go into the setting and change it back. What topside control panel do you have?

Can you use ecoone products in inflatable hot tubs?
Yes they can be used in inflatable hot tubs, just follow the instructions on the bottles.
Can you use these with a salt water pool?
We've discontinued the product due to problems, it's not recommended for any pool filter.
Their technical support is not helpful or trained. My home transmitter has an LED light of green and not blue like it needs to be. Although they know it should be blue, they have no idea how to troubleshoot the problem. First of all, they tell you to open the port 10022 on your router. They don’t help you with that just tell you that you need to do it. How many people know how to configure that? Then after I reach out and receive great tech support from Eero and they confirm it’s not a router issue (port or firewall) I call back. Guess what? Same guy answers the phone (that’s not a good sign). And he says I need to turn the green light blue. And there’s no reason it shouldn’t be blue. Again, no troubleshooting tips. No solutions. Just puts the blame and the work on me. That’s it. He knows two things. Open port 10022 (but won’t help you do it) and the green light must be blue. Even in an email that was the answer I got back. Make sure the light is blue. Come on. I’m more tech savvy than most and my Eero rep rocked. Still nothing. Opened port. Power cycled spa transmitter, power cycled home transmitter. Deleted and redownloaded the app. And my internet is 500 down and 20 up. Very disappointed.
Are you in Europe, USA or Canada?

@@stevegremmels7283 May be worth reaching out to the dealer were it was purchased and requesting a replacement under warranty,. These are good systems and typically installs and works seamlessly but if an issue arrises that can't be resolved replacing the unit usually solves it in our experience.
Will this work in a cartridge filter pump? Thanks!
No it was designed for sand filters, product has been discontinued.
How do I find out if these are compatible with my filter? I watched a video stating the poly filtration is only compatible with lateral piece inside, mine is not, but I can’t find anything stating if it will work or not with this specific brand.
Pool and Hot Tub Depot and many other retailers have stopped selling this product due to issues with some filter models, they appear to work well with new filters but many older filters don't have the same internal design and when the filter is back washed all the balls would flush out. The manufacturers solution was to add 1 bag of sand in the bottom of the filter then fill the rest with the filter balls which in our opinion is not a good solution because that does not eliminate the sand in the filter.
@@Poolandhottubdepot thank you!
Hey, thanks for the advice. Managed to set B32 by holding down the program button for around 20 seconds. Was originally b13. So looks like now set to 32amp breaker. Heater light flashes when secondary pump is on. Think this means heating is suspended. Not sure if it is possible for it to heat while secondary is on. Shows heating while on pump setting 1.
Hi, any idea how to set these to 32amp mode? I was told there should be a dip switch but summit said my model automatically switches. Obviously not now.
Gecko JY series does not have DIP switches, breaker setting can be accessed and set from the topside control panel. Reference the quick Start card that came with the new unit, section 4 shows the steps. It does not automatically switch to the correct breaker setting. Which topside control panel do you have?
Top side panel is in.k330. Unit inside spa is I .yj-v3
@@richardrobey7062 For the K.330. Press and hold the "light" button continuously for about 20 -25 seconds or until you see the breaker setting appear on the display which may display as b.40 (Possible default). With the temp up/down button toggle it to b.32 if you want breaker setting to be 32, then touch the light button to save the changes and the system will then reboot with the new breaker setting.
@@Poolandhottubdepot wow thanks! Appreciate you replying. Will have a look at this tomorrow :)
Is it necessary to remove the volute? Can you not just pry the seal up and out?
The seal (white ceramic mating ring) in the volute can be removed without removing the volute from the motor but its easier to install the replacement and ensure it is seated properly with the volute removed. When the new seal is installed it must be seated and even. If its not seated all the way and uneven it will leak soon as the pump starts.
@@Poolandhottubdepot thank you! I understand proper chemical balance is important but Is it normal to have to replace this seal every couple of years?
@@Holdfast Are you using a basic value grade seal or a Viton grade? Seal life is dependant on chemical level maintenance but also the seal quality it self, value grade seals tend to have a shorter life, North American made Viton grade seals typically can last longer if chemicals are maintained in our experience.
You are a life saver! At first I thought I bought the wrong pump!
I have a dreammaker spa waterway pump model number sp-10-2n11cc would these parts be compatible With my pump? It is leaking and the seals need to be replaced I would appreciate any help anyone can give me thank you
There should be a part number on the Waterway label that starts with 3420.... we would need that complete P/N and also the first 5 digits of the Waterway serial number on the pump. Water has 2 different styles of seals for your pump model, one style for pumps made before 2012 and a different style for pumps made after 2012. The serial # helps identify the year it was made.
I almost installed the impeller without all of the seals, LOL Likely I watched the video
The times he said ball’s
I was trying to get the impeller off with a flathead screwdriver and pliers. You sir are a genius!!
If we purchase one for an older pre o-ring pump do we still fit the o-ring or throw it away and just use the silicone sealant?
New shaft seal does not come with the o-ring for the 315-1260 volute, they are sold separately.
So do I need an o-ring or not? Its an old style pump. Thankyou
If the part number on the back of the volute is 315-1220 then no seal o-ring is required as it's not designed for an o-ring. Only the volutes with the P/N 315-1260 on the back are designed for and require the seal o-ring.
Amazing, thankyou!
No mention of the slinger that was included in the rebuild kit. The slinger is very loose fit on the shaft compared to the rubber slinger typically found on most motors.
The slinger that comes with the kit is a genuine Waterway replacement part and is designed to spin freely on the motor shaft per Waterway.
My hot tub temps can't go higher than 40°c. How do I change that. I need it to go to 42-43°c.
It's not possible to change on the current generation Balboa, Gecko and other brands of control systems. All hot tub control systems can only heat to maximum of 104F / 40C per the the Consumer Products Safety Commission and Underwriters Laboratory (UL). Any hot tub or spa manufacturer that produces a control system, or modifies a standard control system, to exceed 104 °F is in violation of their UL listing and will have their listing pulled by UL.
Pool and Hot Tub Depot Those are not EU regulations are they? I live in Iceland. I NEED my hot tub HOT not just luke warm :) For me a 40°c tub is pointless 😬
