Nah. The fact that it went off just because the dog whined means the dog is getting punished for making any sounds. Meaning it could actually be in pain at some point and not audibly make that known because it thinks its going to get hurt again.

And a robber is going to trying and get in and your dog won’t wanna bark

There may be less barking but your poor dog is confused and stressed. Maybe try getting to the root cause of the issue and changing the way he feels about noises/being left alone, rather than just treating the symptoms alone. A good trainer can help you with that I'm sure. I also agree with other comments about the collar noise going off when he wasn't barking - that's even more confusing for the dog. Can you bring the sensitivity up/down to fix that?

lol he was just distracted and confused by the strange new beeping noise. Once he gets used to it he'll probably be back to barking again
