This is the Captain
This channel is made for flight simulator fans, who love to fly different airplanes.
Lot of people fly as a game but at the same time are curious about, what the systems actually do and how real airliner pilots, deal with day to day scenarios and non normal situations .
I am trying to bridge the gap and make the videos ,simple and easy to understand. This will help the gamers to enjoy the simulator experience more and close to realism.
If you like the work on this channel, please do like the videos and also press the subscribe button and pass it to other flight sim users.

[MSFS} WHAT WHY and HOW of Landing Performance [PMDG}
This video is How to use OPT for landing performance
Also see this video for takeoff performance th-cam.com/video/lgXy0T80yXY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8JxzluI3PAUXh1tm
-----------------------------------------
This video talks about the landing performance. In this video I have shown one example of how changing head winds and tail winds affect landing distance. I have also explained the importance of performance. so you don't land with hot brakes and avoid fuse plug melt.
How do you select a non normal configuration for landing and how it affects landing performance is also touched upon.
Landing performance and selection of flaps is not covered in depth. The focus of the video is to make sure our flight simulator pilots who have never used the performance tab, can start making use of it.
There is more to the topic. Eg: What if there was a go around during approach. Will flaps 30 affect the go around performance? Will selecting lower flap setting give better go around gradient and performance? I will cover these special topics in future videos.
Please do hit a like for the video. it motivates me to make more new content and please do subscribe if you already haven't done that.

[MSFS] How to use Performance Takeoff in OPT [PMDG]
มุมมอง 133วันที่ผ่านมา
This video i have created, explaining how to use the OPT performance tool to plan a safe and efficient takeoff. I have tried to be as basic as possible, to cover the audience keeping in mind flight simulator. The performance tool and the theory is vast and need more time to explain and cover. But what i have tried to cover will help you use it for your takeoff and for you to enjoy the flight si...
[MSFS] Flight planning in Simbrief and Loading Plan in FMC [Navigraph]
มุมมอง 82014 วันที่ผ่านมา
This is a tutorial video which explains briefly how to use simbrief and how to fetch the flight plan in to the airplane like airline pilots. Simbrief and Navigraph have come up with a new plugin that is integrated with the flightsim, making pilots easier to generate and create flight plans I have shown a workflow that i usually do and it makes operating flights easier. If you are aware of any o...
PMDG Boeing 777 - Macao RNAV X Runway16 Approach
มุมมอง 151หลายเดือนก่อน
RNAV X Runway 16 approach in Macao is a very interesting approach. It takes over some terrain and series of altitude and speed restriction point. The final localiser points on a course of 218 which basically takes you straight towards terrain and towards the high rise hotels in Macao. Around 1000ft you have to disconnect the approach, switch flight directors off and manually turn 54deg left to ...
Takeoff with Flight Director [ PMDG 777]
มุมมอง 3252 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is PMDG 777. In this video we will learn about the flight director modes. What happens when a 777 is taking off. What happens at 80kts? What happens at 100kts ? The flight director on 777 does lot of behind the scene actions. You will find this interesting and you will learn something new about the 777. Wah kya video hai
Please note that the new Navigraph Simbrief in the simulator has not changed anything for the 777. The simBrief downloader was never needed for the 777 and I think it is good if you mention this. In fact, as we do not support the download tool anymore, it could lead to problems. So even if you do not have SimBrief in the simulator, do NOT use the flightplan downloader! Mathijs Kok PMDG
Thank you for mentioning this. I'm making a new flight, will clarify this.
What is the correct proccedure to shut it up the alarm? I took off with the packs off and valve to open. It started to screaming at me although I corrected the switches and descended to FL100.
Press the ALT Horn CUTOUT switch when you get the cabin altitude alert . It's next to the air conditioning panel. Watch the video on emergency descent at time 03:05. You will see it in action
@@thisisthecaptain I dont want to bother you, but this scenario is basically if the automatic systems fail. My system did not fail and I made the mistake with the packs off and valve open - they should be on auto. So it differs. You deliberately depressurized the aircraft while in my case the aircraft was never pressurized. I stopped my climb shortly after FL100 at FL110 with the alarm going on. I noticed my mistake and I switched the packs and valve to open, but it did not do anything to the pressurization. The cabin alt did not go down. Then I switched it to manual and flicked the switch/lever to the close position and aircraft pressurized itself. It was trial and error from my side, but if I do the same mistake again in the future I would like to respond in the correct way. So could you describe the scenario where the packs are off and isol valve open? How to pressurize aircraft in FL110 quickly so I can continue my climb safely? Thanks a lot.
Could you describe a situation where packs are off and isolation open? So ideal scenario in airlines . There is a preflight scan for the Captain and first officer. where each pilot checks all the switch positions to make sure the take off is safe for the pilots as well as the passanger. There should be No take off done with pack switches in OFF position, unless it's a MEL and you are flying below 10000ft. I know some cases where pilots forgot the check the pack switches and masks were deployed. Pax had minor ear injuries and pilots were derostered for enquiry with no pay for 6-12months. Now ideally you should not take off with packs off, if you do a proper preflight you should be good. But being a flight simulator , and you want to see different scenarios. You can try level off at 11000ft, put the packs onl and isolation switches auto. you will have to wait a long time till the airplane sets the pressurization and then with the help of manual mode you will have to open close the outflow valve till you meet the schedule which is on the black tape which shows pressure (CABIN ALTITUDE) against airplane altitude . So the steps you took were correct. That's the only way.
But how do you do this? I really want to do it too😢
Do you have the 737 pmdg? if yes you have the OPT for performance calculation
@@thisisthecaptain can i do it on the pmdg 777 too?
Oh yes. ofcourse PMDG OPT will work. For charts to work, you will need the navigraph subscription . I'd suggest : You use sim brief (free) , and you can plan your flight and uplink to FMC. I've seen the sim behaves a little better with correct numbers. Also in FMC make sure the FS Action tab, you match the fuel and ZFW also
@@thisisthecaptain thanks!
Nice take off
Thank you
Any videos possible on linking Simbrief with MSFS. Have no idea about how it works
U can download the simbrief down loader , so basically when u make a flight plan in simbrief, with the help of this bridge will put the files in the correct folder for the msfs to read.
My PMDG 777 is laggy(max 20 fps) is there any mod to fix this?
Hey you can start by deleting the Nvidia shader cache files. I once u delete see if it makes any difference .
Amazing video! Very well explained and rich in details, including the decision make model!
Much appreciated!
They’ve honestly hidden so many Easter eggs on this aircraft like Squawk: 0625 as in 06/25 2024 (release date), the pricing: $77.73 as in 777-300, and when they first put it on the website just before release the pricing was $349,999,999 which is the price of the real 777-300ER in the real world
Exactly . I am so excited to get this. Refreshing msfs since yesterday . Can't wait for start the GE 90- 115BL Journey
Pricing was £300mil because back in P3D days when they priced the 77W at 5mil for a placeholder someone actually managed to buy it. It's also a shame PMDG won't make a 777-300 and only a 777-300ER. But hopes are for the 737 MAX and 747-400 next
@@Flogger1345 not that it’s because the real 777-300ER is $300,000,000 in real life
@@TKLleaks You missed my point
Amazing
Thanks
