It's has been a struggle, we just changed our internet provider. We went from a landline provider to a cellular provider, and ohh my what a difference! Before it took all night to upload a video, and this one only took a few minutes to upload. So hopefully we will get more videos done and even go live, the old internet just drained our soul.

Thank you so much Jan, we are trying to get things there. It hasn't been easy with me working as much as I do, limited finances, and Stacy's limitations becoming more limiting. WE Can't wait until those bacon seeds grow into full bacon slabs.

First few times is always difficult
It was tough, but I think I made it harder than I needed to! Tory was a GREAT teacher. There were 27 chickens done that day, and I waited until close the end...bug mistake when trying to catch one!! I actually helped Tory viscerate several first and when it came time to "dispatch" one she reminded me how the skin felt when I was cutting into it. The Nakid Gardeners were AWESOME teachers!

We have a Grey water line for the washer as well, I need to do some work on it as well, but not at the top of our priority list
@@yellowrosehomestead6626 all of my septic here is grey water. Jan thought I needed longer leach lines but I'm just doing dry well pits for shower and kitchen sink. I've dealt with black water septic before, yuck! I'd rather bag that up and let the garbage man deal with it 🤣😂
What kind of vacuum sealer do you use? I need to invest in one. This year I blanched probably 50 ears then after the ice bath, cut it off the cob and used the ziplock bag and straw method. 🤣 it was exhausting lol

Its always a downer to lose critters that are in our care. Just learn from it and go on, dont let these bad experiences stop you from continuing with your dream. Peafowl are awesome additions to a homestead and I hope to have some someday. Love ya both and look forward to the next video
Yes you are right it does suck losing any animal, but unfortunately it is part of the homesteading life. There is a learning curve that must be gone through as you try to balance your ego system, unfortunately we have not found that balance yet, but we will.
What kind of snakes got to your birds? That stinks! Black snakes aren’t poisonous so I’m wondering what it was. Ohhh a black snake did this! Wow! Around here we welcome them because they kill the copperheads and other poisonous snakes. So far we’ve been blessed to not have any in our chicken coop but we know they’re here.
I welcome them as well, but I have an idea that I will be trying to protect fowl from snakes.
