Cat 309 digging shot rock
Cat 309 digging shot rock with a 3' bucket. Were on a very tight jobsite in the middle of town so the 309's size is great and it has the power to dig through shot rock with ease.

Dozer on Ice - Short Mountain Ice Storm 2021
มุมมอง 230K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Ice storm hit Cannon County TN and Short Mountain was hit bad. Powerlines were down, people were without power, some trapped due to impassable roads, and many emergency communication towers on top of the mountain had backup generators that were running out of fuel. We were lucky enough to be able to assist Middle TN Electric restore power and we tried to document everything we could on video. T...

All we lack on this job is the finish grading and cleanup, but I wont be able to be there for that, so wanted to get a quick video of all we did. Roads, pond, multiple cabin pads, lots of clearing and cleanup. Beautiful place and will have some awesome views in the fall!

Cutting a log road so loggers can access the timber on the lower side of this holler. As you will see...I'm not wearing my hard hat, I don't suggest working in the woods without one, but I walked down there without it not expecting to get close, but then thought it would make a good video and couldn't pass up the opportunity. Yeah, yeah I know, I know...
M929 Military dump truck spreading gravel
มุมมอง 4.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
We build quite a few roads that are in some steep/rough conditions, so we use our M929 to get a road base established and then run a vibratory compactor over it so regular on-road dump trucks can get up and down the road easily. The 929 comes with a spreading tailgate, but after using ours as a haul truck for most its life....the tailgate is pretty much bent up and in its permanent position, so...

    Where is Short Mountain ? There is a Short Mountain in East Tennessee off Hwy 11W west of Rogersville. A sand mine named Short Mountain Sand Inc. White sand makes glass, golf course sand traps, University of Tennessee used 100,000 tons when they went back to grass.

      Is that not given each and every time pay your power bill??? You act like they do this for free and dont charge you for power.These people get PAID big money and dont just go out to do this free of charge. Ask Adams to show you the bill paid for this service.

    • @adamsexcavatinglandmanagem7593
      @adamsexcavatinglandmanagem7593 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try duck is rite, they do get paid well, but its still a dangerous job, and I'm glad they do it. We could name of thousands of professions that are difficult/dangerous/stressful/whatever, and try to compare the amount of negatives to the amount of pay,..but why waste the time? Lets just pat each other on the back and be thankful for what each other does. If we think one profession pay is a little bit too high,...then I suggest trying to get into that profession! lol. He is also rite about us getting paid to do this, we did get paid for our services, and this is something that was risky, was an emergency, and was somewhat of a "name your price" situation, yet that is not what we did. I did charge more than our usual hourly rate, but nothing outrageous, because if I did, we would never work for the electric department again, and I dont want that. Thats the free market at work, checks and balances. Plus, I pay an electric bill...I dont want to throw crazy expenses at a company that is going to turn rite around and pass it down the line to me and my fellow man. If everyone did that we would all be in terrible shape.

    My last comment, This was so educational to show us what it takes and how all of you people take care of us when a storm hits and I for one am proud of all that choose to go out in that kind of weather to clear trees, roads, to fix the electric lines to help all of us. So proud of people like you making this video and the rest that helped.

  • @tamaragonzalez2227
    @tamaragonzalez2227 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    And just think the Biden adminstration are telling all of us we must go all electric vehicles. So when storms like this hit there will be no way any electric vehicle would be able to do the job and with electricity out they would not be able to recharge any way.

    I have been watching on you tube the (POW Ponder on Weather) site and he has been reporting the storms coming like this, Amazies me how he has hit what is going to happen before it does, I love watching vehicles being loaded up and always have since I was a kid. Thank you for this video and what a great job you have don.

    I always front load the dozer onto the deck so the blade acts as a counter weight on and on. Cuts down the pucker quite a bit. Love to see the up mountain drive when it's not snowy.

    • @adamsexcavatinglandmanagem7593
      @adamsexcavatinglandmanagem7593 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We always load it with the blade facing backwards just for the safety. We figure if something happens like the trailer getting off in the ditch due to someone running us off the road, and the blade hits a big tree or other large obstruction, its more likely to glance off it as opposed to hooking into it if it was facing forward. Same for other vehicles on the road, if someone was to hit the blade, we'd rather it glance off than peel the whole side of the vehicle open like a can opener lol. It would feel good to say the idiot driver would get what they deserve regardless, but you never know, even good drivers have accidents. Plus, if they were just simply idiots, they could have innocent kids in the vehicle, and we don't want them to have to pay for their parents idiocy lol.
