Is it more laid back than personnel job?
88 to 2012. Comm guy then 10 years as a KC 135 boom operator. Choose your job wisely. I was a CrossFit guy and a swimmer. Most of us were in hella good shape. I hated running but we had to do it so I trained for it. Work out and kick the PT tests ass. My Comm jobs were out in the field. Wartime deployments, dangerous and fun. My last 10 I flew. A great job while deployed, BS at home station, even for an E7 and E8. No matter what job you have get in the gym and make damn sure you pass your PT test. Study! Become the expert at your job. I don’t mean the know it all that tells people what to do, but for yourself. Never stop learning. I had many troops fail PT tests, and knew the bare minimum about our job and it showed. It’s not a good way to start your career. In this ever changing world get you mind around deploying. I did 25 months in Turkey after Desert Storm and 9 deployments during OIF/ OEF. You have to be mentally fit, and prepared. We joined to protect our country. I met some of the best people while deployed fighting the war. Most of all, have fun. It takes a special person to volunteer for the Air Force. You will make a difference. I Salute you and wish you good luck. Peace…

Flightline. From up Saturday morning. We also had "stairs" program. Going from must be in uniform when going out of dorm, to final level can stay off base with weekend pass. Good to see the fish bowl is still there in name only I assume every weekend they brought in DJ and bands, and liquor was flowing in Friday-saturday night. Our mandatory run was the parade Saturdays

how did you prepare physically before going?
Just ran a mile 1/2 everyday and practice different planks to help core and arms strength. I couldn’t do a push-up before going so building arm strength before was my main priority

Hey so I’ve been working postal since last October but now I’m PCA into CSS for the wing and I have no experience whatsoever in admin. I’m extremely nervous so I was wondering if you had any tips 🥲
CSS is super chill. It’s really Hands on so my tip would be to just ask lots of questions about everything. You will be peoples go to for everything so become very knowledgeable at it

Aww thank you ! There’s not really any tips, it’s all chance or seeing if your recruiter can pull strings . Admin job does not require a high score on the asvab at all so that’s a plus and even if you test poorly , it will still be an option

Eat more Whole Foods, organic. Stay away from chips and snacks, cook more at home vs frozen your skin will thank you. Everything is very salty and fatty looks good but I learned that’s what helped me clear my skin, cheers
