The (now unnamed) street that dead ends at the railroad tracks is the remains of the original trajectory of South Broadway before they constructed the underpass in the mid late 80’s. You can find some pictures online from the late 70s that shows traffic backed up at this crossing.

@@ScottExploring Have a raily great day! :)
15:40 the mines do keep going a little deeper, the entrances are just small and start to become crawl spaces
Maybe that is why I did not notice the mine going back much more, my crawling through holes in the ground days are long gone LOL.. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
@@ScottExploring Anytime, I’ve attempted to go deeper before but stopped because It was only me and a friend, there’s also a few drop offs further in but to get down them you would need climbing equipment, but I’m interested to see what could be farther down then I’ve went 😎
@@smokinwitgamerz1032 I you ever find out how far back they go, or what is at the bottom, be sure to let me know. I am curious now LOL
I’m a proud middle school graduate of this school …. Graduated from 8th grade . This was not Dayton Public Schools , this was Jefferson Township Schools . Lots of memories , I was even in Ms. Beavers class , the teacher whose grade book you found .
Oh Wow that is odd that I found a grade book from one of your old teachers! I hope that my video brought back a lot of good memories of your school days. I am sure it was sad seeing the school in such bad condition. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment..
Hi Scott! Glad I stumbled upon your channel... I just picked up an ambulance/rescue that looks pretty identical to yours other than the paint. Its a 1989 Ford E350 with the same 7.3L IDI that is in yours. I am turning mine into a camper as well and am watching your videos closely for inspiration and information. Thank you for uploading your whole process!
Thanks! I hope that I can provide both the info and inspiration that you desire LOL. I am not very good at the youtube thing and converting the ambulance I just made up as I went.
I did the conversion a few years ago and I ended up selling the ambo. But if you have any questions, feel free to ask, if I can remember what it was I did, i'll try to be of help
My great grandfather was from Jackson co David Boggs I think was he his name Him and just about all of his family dye from the flue back in the day .my grandfather and maybe one more kid made it the whole deal they had to move to there aunts house in Indiana I think my great mother was lamb before they they got married have you ever heard about anything like that from Jackson co area
I know that in the mid to late 1800's there was several cholera outbreaks in Ky as well as other surrounding stantes. Maybe that is what it was, other then that I am not sure of any major outbreaks of flu. But then again before penecellin or some other meds tha I can not think of the name, a lot of people died of the flu and even comon cold
I really enjoyed your videos of this old plant. Thanks for sharing
I'm glad that you enjoyed them. I had pland of going back and getting some inside videos of the what was left of the main plant, but have not since had time to do so. I wonder how much is has been taken down since these videos
It's a shame that a cemetery would not clean up the whole cemetery and preserve the historic graves.
I agree. I am not sure why only part of it was taken care of, maybe it's volunteers and they just do not know there are more graves back there...
by any chance, did you find anything sketchy there? was the neighborhood safe?
youre my neighbor bro
We did see where some homeless was camping out, but there was no one home at the time. I do not remember the area being bad at all, just poor and run down from what i remember.
@@MatthewB823 yeah? you live in Lexington near me??
The neighborhood is called drexel in Jefferson township I live there and went to that school when it was just a middle school 5-8 blairwood was 1-4 didn't go to the highschool but my sister's did
Drexel that school was called Radcliff it was the middle school I went to that school you went into most of my old class rooms
Sure them are vents? Not lights with a deflector on them? Usually they have a maintainer on the battery so when you kill the switch and go shore power it keeps the battery up. that block heater should go ti shore power.
The lights where small round visible lights, I am pretty sure you could see the vents from underneath the body, but do not remember now. Yes, there was an inverter that could be pugged into with a 20amp 110volt plug, I did get that working and the block heater was plugged into an orange extension cord that plugged into the inverter/shore power. I unhooked that extension cord as it was not ran to my liking as you would have to open the inverter cover to unhook the glow plugs if you did not want them plugged in. My preference was to have the glow plugs set up as a "normal" with the designated plug up front in the grill area. Thanks for watching
I think they closed it because everybody used it for a bathroom. I's not haunted. I've been inside it several times
I am sure that was part of it, plus I think I read that someone actually died on top of it, hit my lightning or something like that. Yeah, i've been to a lot of "haunted" places, never seen anything. I think ghosts are afraid of me LOL..
Scot, I'm not afraid of ghosts. I'm afraid of crazy people and liberals. Many times they're the same thing!!
Kingsbury was bigger and employed more people
Where was Kingsbury? I just googled the Indiana Ammo plant, and it said it was the worlds largest. Maybe Kingsbury was later or earlier? Let me know so I can maybe some day, if I ever get time go and check it out. Or at least read about it.. thanks for the info...
Laporte County/ just south of city Laporte in
I have visited the cemetery many times. The cemetery was originally located along Winchester Road across from Speedway. The horses remains were reloated to this location about 10 years ago when the development of Hamburg Pavilion began. I was very fortunate to get visit the original loaction of the cemetery and take photographs before it was relocated.
I found out about the relocation after this video. For some reason I did my research after the video, completely backwards I know!! That is good you where able to visit the original site and document it before it was relocated...Thanks for the info and for watching

That's cool
taxpayers need to wake up and see the galactic waste of money public schools are this country
I agree!
best way to pass the test is to go to a private school
When I was little I used to want to go into there so bad
Wow!!! Beautiful Colors. Thank you for sharing.
thanks and thank you for watching
What school did you visited that showed fire damage
I do not remember now, was a few years ago
I went there when it was Radcliff I lived at the end of that road new everybody on that street I was actually there when you held up that proficiency test from 97 I was actually in that group. They later change the school to a charter school was ripping off the state I believe adding children that wasn't even there using fake names but I really don't know much about that
I went to school there to in the late 90s I was there on 9/11 too maybe we went there at the same time names Michael
Nice
This school was closed because nearly half the students didn't exist and over a million had been spent for those imaginary student's education. This was while it was a charter school, and their testing results were also problematic because I don't know how you provide testing for students that don't exist. Previously it was a public school. The school was shut down by an auditor and it took year or so to be turned over for prosecution. The student records should have been removed by the state to protect privacy.
What School was this?
@@TedClayton-cc8pu It was previoiusly a public school. Then the city closed it and sold to General Chappie James Leadership Acadamy, a charter school. From 2014 to 2017 the records were audited and found half the students were fake. Sorry I didn't see the notification sooner.
It's sealed up because they had a problem with kids hanging out there back in the day
Like that you give how old there are
Scott, I was the pastor of Forks Church from 2013-2019. The cemetery is rich in history with several Revolutionary War Veterans as you noticed. I would also mentioned Rev. Burdette Kemper was the 3rd pastor of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church and served there for almost 50 years. During his ministry, the church grew to an attendance of over 500 on Sunday mornings. One interesting fact about the cemetery is the actually filled though many of the gravestones are no longer marking graves. No one has been buried in the cemetery since the 1950’s. Also in the back of the cemetery, there is a large unmarked section of the cemetery that contains graves of slaves whose markers were supposedly removed by someone after emancipation. Another interesting fact is if you go to the very back of the cemetery to the left of the big metal building, there is a garden tomb area with a mass grave in it that contains victims of polo and tuberculosis from the early 1900’s I believe. It’s is a beautiful section of the cemetery during the spring time. The church hosted a Easter Sunrise Service at the garden tomb every year.
You are in the newer part. If you drive on past this, theres an older part with much older graves in the back outside of the fence. This cemetery has been dubbed one of the most haunted places in KY.
I found out about the older part after I was there, I think someone else had mentioned it as well. I had plans to go back, but it so far has not happen.. Yeah, I have heard that is is one of the most haunted places in Ky, forgot where I heard that, again after I was there. Thanks for watching
Beautiful mountains
Yes they are...
Looks like gardendale elementary on Gettysburg Ave.
It could had been, I really did not know or remember now the name of the school. Thanks for watching
I grew up there ..watched it burn to the grown
Watching this burn must had been a sight to see.. thanks for watching
The 70- buildings were material handling and vehicle maintenance
Thanks for the info, I was not sure what any of the buildings where for, unless marked. Thanks for watching
@ScottExploring I really enjoy it. It's a shame seeing these places tore down and we do not have the manufacturing capability. I oversaw the production of the AT-4 DISPOSABLE Bazooka. The government spent millions bringing this weapon to the US to manufacture. My team an I spent weeks in Kaarlstadt and Venoker Sweden learning how to make this weapon. We then built all the machines to manufacture plus took group 3A at JAAP which had cows walking thru it , spending millions to get the 672 acre & 1 1/4 mile production line ready. Now this weapon is back being manufactured in Sweden. Plain stupid. With vendors an all it was roughly 900 jobs (good paying). Our only manufacture of TNT now was in Eastern Ukraine. There is a US distributor. Holstein in TN makes RDX but for octol/ tnt we are screwed.
@@byronscherer4986 Our Government is very good at wasting money, no wonder we are 69 gazillion bucks in debt.... Oh look spell check says gazillion is a word, I thought I made that up LOL!!!!!!
This arsenal was just under 19000 acres. JAAP outside Wilmington IL was just under 35000 acres making it much bigger than Indiana. JAAP made TNT plus 9 manufacturing sites. 4 of those sites were on 700 acre plots. There were 318 bunkers at JAAP Please try to get in JAAP before it's all tore down
I had plans to do more videos here, before this one is all torn down, plus the one in WV. I am not sure if the JAAP is the one I found in IL on google or not, that was a couple years ago. I am not able to do any more videos due to my work, plus going alone is a bit dangerous and I know no one that will accompany me. Thanks for the info and recommending for a new spot to video, and thanks for watching.
my grandfather lived close to there and i spent as much time as i could with him.
That's good that you was able to spend time with your grandfather. We can learn a lot from the old folks. To bad mine all died when I was very young....
my father and grandfather worked there.
You know a lot of the history for that area then! thanks for sharing and watching
