Congrats to the Royal! It shows that old school basic direct air can't be beat for agitation. I was also impressed with the 2 Riccars. They also did a fine job. A very thorough and fair comparison test! I really enjoyed it.🙂

I am obsessed with my oreck vacuum xl commercial vacuum too it truly is the best and no one can out vacuum a oreck

Interesting Vacuum. I'm not too familiar with Riccar vacuums. I like the metal brush Roll (similar to Sanitaire with replaceable brush strips.) It seems to have plenty of power for 5.5 amps. Have you checked the brush roll bearings? That could be where the wobble is coming from. Looks and sounds like a quality machine!

Such a beautiful cat! Obviously he/she chose a great home. Would be nice to see your cat in some of your posts, however cats usually don't care much for vacuums(Noise hurts their ears). Thanks for sharing!

I think the Oreck did slightly better, It's really about their airflow and agitation, while the 4 amp Orecks aren't the best deep cleaners they will outdo many lower end bagless machines

I like the classics more because they feel so much more durable than the xl21 even though the oreck xl21 cleans better though

I have that exact Royal Vacuum (#9700). It is my daily use vacuum. I fully agree with your assessment. The 7 amps is more than enough for deep cleaning and good agitation without being excessively noisy like the md#4000(10.5 amp) is (of which I also own). I am a real Royal fan! Great vacuum! Thanks for sharing!🙂

For shame! I can't believe that you aren't using a hepa bag lol. And actually, the older bags were top fill also, the same as a Eureka F&G. The plastic tube just replaces the paper tube

I love the Oreck. Im going to be getting a Cheap one just to clean around the litter boxes. Idk about the brush roll, but the stiffer bristles will probably make it clean better. The Hoover is also a 2010 model

While blue is my favorite color, i prefer the black one. On smooth plastic, like the black one, you can use car wax to make it shiny. Just dont wax over any writing ( logo,etc.) as the wax will remove it

Unsure which to purchase, Neat or Neat plus? I'm wondering, what's your opinion of the plus after owning and using for several months now? I have read of some disliking the hose on the plus being nearly 4' shorter. Also, one reviewer stated that when pausing the plus's trigger between use, a full minute of waiting (each time) is necessary for the temperature to increase producing steam again. They stated, this is because of the smaller continuous hot water tank and the larger refillable tank. Whereas the regular neat's temperature stays consistent for the entire single tank, requiring no wait period. Have you found this to be true? I like the idea of the continuous water tank feature, but a shorter hose and constant waiting for steam to produce again is unfavorable for me. Any thoughts? Thanks

Vaclab has measured both vacuums and Dirt Devil has 86 cfm and Bissell 63 cfm. Both from the nozzle. So pretty big difference. Great video from you showing how they compare. Dirt Devil can actually have over 100 cfm if you just use the filter in the bin.
