Some additional comments on the lyrics. The "Stotsenburg" and "McKinley" referenced in the song were US military camps bombed during the initial Japanese invasion for their strategic value. Both were built during the aftermath of the Philippine-American War (1901 and 1902, respectively). Fort McKinley is in what is now Bonifacio Global City in Metro Manila while Fort Stotsenburg was in Angeles, Pampanga. Fort McKinley was named after Pres. William McKinley, whose administration initiated the policy of American occupation in the Philippines. Fort Stotsenburg was named after Col. John Stotsenburg, a US Cavalry officer who was killed in action in the 1899 Battle of Quinga during the Philippine-American War.

You don't want to raise a solider? But you raised a boy who knows right from wrong, who has principles he strives to uphold, and who knows that bad people will do horrible things. Sure, war is a terrible thing, but it is not the *worst* thing. I doubt the people of Belgium and the occupied parts of France would say that those who defended them died in vain.
