Learning to fly while exploring this amazing world...
I got my PPL pilot night rating!
Embarking on Night Skies: My EASA VFR Night Rating Journey! 🌌✈️
Ever wondered what it takes to conquer the night skies as a pilot? Join me as I share my incredible journey earning the coveted EASA VFR Night Rating! While it’s been a few months since I achieved this milestone, I finally had the chance to edit and relive the experience-and I’m thrilled to bring you along for the ride.
This rating opens up a whole new dimension of aviation, allowing me to fly after sunset. It’s a big step forward as I prepare for my next goal: the Basic Instrument Rating (BIR). But here’s an interesting twist-did you know that even with an instrument rating, you can’t fly at night in the EASA world without this specific qualification? A bit puzzling, isn’t it? But hey, aviation rules are full of quirks!
The adventure didn’t come without its challenges. In Madrid, general aviation airports don’t offer nighttime operations, meaning aspiring pilots must travel elsewhere for training. For me, that “elsewhere” was Granada (LEGR). Flying with Aeris flight school in a Cirrus SR20 equipped with the same avionics as my beloved SR22 IGGY made the transition seamless-essential for navigating the added complexities of night flying.
From local flights and touch-and-go’s with my instructor to those all-important five solo take-offs and landings amidst bustling commercial traffic, the journey was as rewarding as it was challenging. Holding patterns, patience, and persistence all paid off, and now, the skies at night are mine to explore. 🌟
So buckle up and join me in the cockpit as I relive the highs, the holds, and the thrill of mastering the art of night flight. Clear skies and endless horizons await! 🌙✨

Breathtaking broken cloud layers returning from Portugal!
มุมมอง 446หลายเดือนก่อน
After a brief visit with friends, I made my way back from Cerval to Madrid. Cerval is a charming, cozy airfield in northern Portugal, near the beautiful Galicia region -definitely worth a visit! Soon after takeoff, I passed through a broken layer of clouds. With temperatures above freezing at that altitude, icing wasn’t a concern. The result? Stunning views from above. Let me share them with yo...
Starlink Mini test flight in Cirrus SR22

I did a Starlink Mini test flight. Amazing performance... too bad Starlink has limited their (so far) cheap roaming plans for aviation. Let's hope Elon reconsiders this for small GA planes!! What are your views on this? Please comment!
SR22 Cirrus COPA Migration flight to Czechia. My longest trip so far in IGGY! Three amazing days.

Unforgettable journey from Madrid, Spain to Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic in our trusty Cirrus! This video captures the entire adventure, including a refueling and lunch stop at Lyon Bron Airport in France. Unexpectedly, we had to divert to an alternate airport because Karlovy Vary's airport closed at 17:00. Despite this hiccup, the trip was incredible and culminated in an amazing 3-day experien...
We did a nice formation flight in the first COPA meeting I organise. Amazing weekend!

Some weeks ago I organised the first COPA (Cirrus Owners and Pilots Association) meeting for Spain and Portugal. We had 9 Cirrus planes coming from both countries. An amazing event... lot of fun. We viisted La Caminera Hotel, and Bodegas San Ricardo... we had some presentations, visited our "birds" in the apron and did a small formation flight on our way back home. Where should we organise the ...
I flew IGGY, my Cirrus SR22, to the French Alps but we had to divert to Carcassonne on our way back

This was the first time I had to divert to the alternate airport. The flight to Annecy (LFLP) from Madrid was a bit challenging but uneventful. The way back to Madrid was a different story... we had a strong weather formation in front of us before crossing the Pyrenees mountain range. Fortunately this was expected so we just had to activate plan B and divert to the second alternate in the fligh...

See content linked in the video for the rest of all 4 cameras used... This is camera 4 cut from my first formation flight! Coming back from La Caminera (LENE) to Casarrubios (LEMT) we had a formation flight with another Cirrus SR22... what an amazing experience. Luckily, my friend Marcos, F18 pilot from the Spanish Airforce briefed both of us about all procedures... long video coming soon!

I did a short test flight from Casarrubios airfield (LEMT) into Cuatrovientos airport (LECU). Here I show the departure back from LECU into LEMT. As it is uploaded in 360 format you can play around with the video moving your phone or using the mouse to select the your best view (if using a mobile device, use the Youtbue App to view it, not the web browser. Probably you can't move around the 360...

So I finally found some time to edit the footage of our Le Castellet GT Open flight to Paul Ricard motorsport race track last summer. Amazing 3 days at the races flying the CAME team members into the racetrack. Remember that LFMQ, Le Castellet airport, sits side by side by the track!
