What it's like being a MODEL in JAPAN!
While coming to Japan is a dream for many people, not everyone knows that modeling is a possible job for them, and can be a fun, if unconventional way to make a little extra money!
But what's it like being a model in Japan? How do you get started, what are some kinds of jobs you might end up doing? I asked my friend Nina, a model, influencer, and independent artist, to help answer some of these questions! Hope you enjoy it, maybe you'll learn something while you're here!

Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal were the best Pokémon games ever made, beaten out ONLY by the DS remakes. I always thought it was cool how the fictional places from the games were based off real Japan, and I thought I'd introduce some of the real places Kyoto. I used to watch a lot of digimon anime when I was a kid, more than pokemon. In may I went to tokyo and went to odaiba, then I realized that digimon was based in odaiba, it was really crazy to experience the places on my own. It's even crazier when you come from a third world country in central America haha.

Yokosuka was my home port while assigned to the USS Midway until its decommission. I used to walk over to that park, quit a bit. I never did go aboard IJN Mikasa. It's neat to see the inside of it.
No way, you served on USS Midway??? I'm from San Diego, I've visited that ship! I hope someday you can return to Japan and visit Mikasa. It's a really cool look at life from a different point in history.
@maxxjapan619 I to hope some day to visit Japan again. My last duty station was in Coronado, California, on the USS Constellation. I left the Navy in 1994.

Haha, well, not sure if I can be a personal guide. But one of my goals with this channel is to highlight fun things to do in Japan that are free. As far as getting more subscribers, just spread the word about the channel, friend!

That's always the best when you just go for a walk stumble upon something you know. Happened to me once when I found the Prime Minister's house on accident! Yeah, not as fun as anime stuff, but I thought it was cool.
I want to! I want to. But since season 3 is where I dropped off, I'm not as familiar with it. Yes, I know it's really awesome, and the few episodes I've seen are really good and make me want more. But I want to give it a thorough watch through to make sure I give a video justice.

You forgot to point out the school from Digimon 02. It's by the beach in Odaiba and there's an actual school right there by the exit from the bridge. It's not exactly the same but it's fairly similar. I got to ride the ol' Palette Town ferris wheel back in 2015 :D sad it's gone now.
Haha, I know it's there, but since school's in session I didn't really feel comfortable filming around an elementary school. Maybe if I do a follow-up video I'll try to get some footage. I want to do a Tamers video someday too.

I've seen BluRays and DVDs of the shows for sale here in Japan (not sure about overseas territories, sorry). As far as the audio dramas, those weren't for sale at the museum, but I'd bet they're easy enough to find online. If you just want to listen to them and don't mind not having the physical product, just search around on TH-cam.

I watched it when it aired on fox kids. I still am a digimon fan and have never seen a whole episode of Pokémon. I even had digimon book #1! Looking into getting memorabilia like the original digivice! And the digimon original movie is THE BOMB.
The original movie is such a mess, but I can't help but love it for that. Plus, the first two segments are lots of fun.

Believe it, and it'll happen, friend!!! I had so many doubters and naysayers when I started learning Japanese back in the day. I never for a minute listened to them and I'm glad. Keep grinding away, and when you finally touchdown YOU'LL realize it was worth it too!

I saw that they did that not long after uploading this video. I might check that out sometime. Still, woulda loved seeing that plot line followed up in 02. Someday, maybe.

When I moved to Tokyo and decided to make videos, this was the one I most wanted to make. And if you enjoyed it too, then I'm very happy, because I made it for old time Digi-fans like you too!

Thank you for making this. I went to Tokyo in March and visited Hikarigoaka and Odaiba just to see locations from Digimon and as a lifelong Digimon fan it felt so amazing walking round there.
I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! It can be a bit surreal walking around Tokyo and seeing all these places I knew from anime or video games. But it makes it all the more special to finally see them. I hope you get the chance to come visit again!
