Logan makes me think of all the good basketball teams that Logan High School had when Willie Akers was the coach.

WV had a plan. Take coal out in a way to provide land for building a MALL. Lived in Madison/Danville area. In back of the was a large cliff area created by removing coal and rock. Charleston, WV was the usual shopping center in the area. For one end of Boone County the people preferred the Beckley, WV area. Afte the Logan Mall was built I spent some there - gas fill up and eat out there. Is the Mall still there?

Great video, Thank you. I graduated logan high school in 1983, I had Mr. Godby as a teacher for social studies. I moved to Texas in 1986, I still live here. I come home to visit my family that lives in mudfork or Verdunville, The high school looks the same. I use to eat at Morrisons drive inn every weekend, I really miss it. They had the best Chicken liver dinners and hamburgers and hot dogs, It's a great place to visit and go to chief logan state park.

When I was a kid growing up I used to buy my comic books underneath the old bus station. I think there’s a McDonald’s there now where the bus station was.

Born in Man and grew up in Chapmanville. Taking a trip to Logan was an adventure. We would park in the parking garage and walk to G. C. Murphy for lunch. Nothing I have ever experienced relates to the small town life I knew growing up. You passed past the Capital movie theatre that is closed now. I saw Gremlin’s, Ghost Busters and Purple Rain there in the 80’s. We had to wait in a line down the block to see the new movies. Morris in’s drive in is still a wonderful place to eat. Sally died, but they still have a Sally special. Several of my family died in Logan General Hospital. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

My mom's family is from here. When I was younger , I would spend summers there. My great aunt Donsil owned a jewelry store in Logan . My mom was Valdictorian at Logan high school. But she was older . 1954 maybe. My family lived in Dingas, by a mile long tunnel. Back then it wasn't paved. My aunt used to drive us through it in a 1960 impala. My family are Alexander , Justice , Shepherd , Blair. My dad's side was from Laurel Creek and Lenore, and Williamson. My grandmother Olive Adams Alexander was from Hart's Creek. My uncle Owen and aunt Sadie lived up on Mt Gay. You are right. When we went uptown on Saturday, it was the bomb. I'll never forget the smell of the mountains. You can poke my eyes right out of my head and I'll tell you when I get home.

And, for the most part, it was an innocent place to grow up. `Least that's how I remember it. I think you put it best when you said, "`Wouldn't change a thing." ...Thanks for posting some good memories.

My dad grew up in Ethel just down the road but they left for a job in Detroit in 1927. I took him back in the late 80s and it blew him away. My grandfather was in the Battle of Blair Mountain. Lots of history in those hills.

I live in Va & Have My whole life. Growing up it was nothing to hear about how terrible West Va is & folk's would pick on the state but to Me WV is without a doubt one of the most beautiful states ever!! I love this video because I love small towns. Make's the 2nd time I've watched it. Make's me feel like I'm actually there myself.

Nothing but love for beautiful West Virginia and all it's residence. It doesn't matter if you're from Logan West Virginia or some holler in the mountains I've got nothing but love for them all. .... I've been to every nook and cranny in West Virginia for work in the mortgage industry over a 13 year period. I would drive from Richmond VA daily to go inspect properties for numerous mortgage companies and I would get ridiculous addresses like "rural route 2 box #9 " and needless to say no map reflected those addresses because everything was switched over to 911 addresses 20+ years before I got the paperwork. I would have to ask people to help me with the addresses and every single person was so helpful and so nice that one couldn't help but fall in love with the residents along with the beauty & history of West Virginia that only makes the state that much more enjoyable. Every morning at work people argue and fight over having to go to West Virginia because of the distance they would have to travel and typically didn't get home at night till around 11 PM. .... I had no problem doing it because it all fairness I really had no life other than work & my animal rescue so I would always go by myself and loved it. West Virginia will always be in my heart and I have plans in the next few years of building a log cabin in West Virginia to retire and suck up that West Virginia beauty and meet more wonderful West Virginians. .... Sorry to have rambled on in your comment section however this video brought back so many wonderful memories of all the times that I was there so thank you my friend for allowing me down memory lane with you in the video.

This is exactly what is happening to mine i got a flat spot on my roller and bad wear on the weights. 6500 miles on the original clutch so im replacing the whole primay clutch unit.

Could be bad fuel/water in fuel. Mix with HEET or 100% Isopropyl Alcohol

you have the ground cable beside the engine disconected from the chassis ,it happen to me too !!

Sounds like something might be broken in the transmission and those broken bits are jamming up the shaft stopping the motor.
