@@dylano8629 hahaha i know i was just joking! and yeah it should be faster on the road cuz at that speed wheel slip is always a issue, just like road bike at higher speed, the rear wheel always slip a good amount, so in the dirt its obviously worst. some say they can reach close to 170 with these(probably on pavement)

My 2022 yz450fx does 95 in 5th pinned. 13 tooth front and a 49 tooth rear. His speed is in kmh not mph. 152 kmh to mph is 94.5 mph. His speed is effectively the exact same as mine. I did the conversion as I was typing this comment btw. I said my speed before ever converting his to mph

@idecidenotyou dude they're 450s how fast do you think they go? They aren't pit bikes. They're full size bikes with a wider gear ratio than their yz450f counter parts. You do realize that dirtbikes go faster than 50 mph right? My 2009 kx100 would hit 60 pinned. Do the research on the speed of a 450. With a quick search google says 85mph bone stock on a yz450f, not the yz450fx. And you have to consider that running smaller sprockets increases speed. That's why you see crotch rockets with such small sprockets. They were made to go fast. These bikes are made to go fast while also having tons of torque. Running smaller sprockets like I am and I'd bet he is too means more speed. You see how long it took him to hit 152 kmh? That's because you trade off acceleration for top speed.

not sure if ur dreaming or you just did not use a good way to mesure ur speed cuz every 2t 250's i seen i drove barely got to 130 "pinned forever", even the brand new one's.

@@AcadianHoons was waiting for this response. I've had the top two gears changed. It sits on a 100 in 5th just under power band. Crack it and she's off. Heads been shaved and it's a yz race model not a yzx which is what they sell in Australia for bush riding. Yzx is less aggressive as extra port work is done to the yz model. GPS is a pretty accurate tool for measuring speed. Same GPS I use is accurate in my car. Had the gears changed for bush riding as we often do fair stretches on dirt roads to get where we're going in between riding spots. Pretty sure yz with standard gearing only does around 115 K. It's a bit of an animal to ride lots of torque in the bottom 3 gears as they been left standard. Way better throttle response and snappy than the X model. Likes to pull up the front wheel very easily and have to be a bit careful with it. It's not very forgiving and that's before hitting band. I'd say to describe the way you have to ride it reminds me more of the old 500 2t. I'm 50 and had all sorts of machines car's and bikes. Played with them all to get more out of them. I pull up beside any yz 250 that's standard and they got no chance when I hit it leaves them like they standing still. Will add it does much the same to your 450f

@@tonymarshall9670 well yeah that would explain why, cuz stock 250's with gears wont reach 170kph and the stock 450's either, the 500 2T would be able to do it no problem. but around here at 150kph ur asking for trouble anyway😅 , we dont have the space you guys have down there😉🤘

@@AcadianHoons it can do it but I don't use it. Certainly not wise at that speed anywhere. They're not designed to be that fast. Bottom 3 are mostly used and fourth to give it a rest. I like fifth to do the 100 just under band as there's no need to over rev just to get place's. It's been done more to help the top end last longer as well the bottom. But it's nice to have for those times when some riders think they're bikes are hot shit. Puts things back into prospective. As a young man it was my dream bike as an older man I respect it is more bike than I'll ever need. It's really nice to have it all there and never try to force power out of it. It's on tap I enjoy that I have to be a bit careful with it. The bike you're on is plenty it's just that I like 2t in the dirt 4 for the road. As you know a bit more simple with the maintenance. What country are you in?

@@tonymarshall9670 Canada on the east coast. nowadays the trails are not what they use to be. lots of sidebyside's and 4 wheeler trails. but for bikes they still not "allowed" (if they catch you) and you can get fined for using them.

in know powerwise the honda was the best but the powerband on the yamaha is insane, but i never tried a 450 honda, id love to tho!

they have the same outside tire diameter, the sidewalls are taller then a 19 you end up with same tire height, they do have a shorter 1st and taller 5th...the reason the kx lost was because of my bad launch, i had to let go cuz i was going sideways into the yz😅
