So was Whitney. 3. Madonna is an ally (if not the most important ally) to the LGBTQ comemunity since day one. Whitney was a dear member of the LGBT community and Madonna most probably knew that (through one of her best friends Rosie O'Donnell) ! 4. Madonna loves success! Whitney was very successful 5. Madonna loves competition. When it came to selling records she had only a few rivals. Whitney was one of them. 6. Madonna is funny. So was Whitney! 7. Madonna understands and supports the black community. Always has. Always will! Her favorite authors, writers, collaborators, musical influences and some ex-boyfriends and lovers (2 Pac, Dennis Rodman, Basquiat etc.) were black.
