I cannot express in words how much I love this video. I come back and watch it in full at least once a year, if not more. It's one of my favorite pieces of art of all time. The careful framing, the limited color palette, and stark imagery are all such strong choices that effectively communicate so much. The impact it has left on me is not insignificant. As I rewatched this time, I realized that in the beginning, Akira is the one out of focus. But in the latter half of the video, Akechi takes his place. They cannot see each other with clarity. They cannot see the other's expression. They are each other's Vivi, fundamentally unable to understand each other. Above all, I love how carefully they gaze at each other. The fact that Akira stares after Akechi when he does not look back, and Akechi stared with hatred when Akira was unable to meet his eyes. The fact that the only time it is in full color is when Joker was looking back imagining a different future/past, and the rest is in black, white, and red. I initially watched this having only played the original Persona 5, but I have since played through Royal. I will always be stuck on how Maruki's view of Akira's best life always included Akechi. This song is one I will always return to and it's not only because I love Kenshi Yonezu's music (this song actually was my gateway into listening more!). My association between the song and this video is unmistakable. I will never be able to think of the song without thinking of this in turn. I cannot express how thankful I am that you posted this video such that I could gaze upon its greatness. Thank you so much, and I hope you are doing well now, even five years later.

So by the time I’m writing this comment, the video is nearly 5 years old, but I came back to say; Thank you In 2018 I didn’t liked Akechi that much, it wasn’t until I became more involved with the fandom that I got to love this little shit (affectionate), out all the fandom content that I’ve seen, this is one the few that stuck with me even after YEARS, I can’t listen this song without thinking about this amv, I just can’t, your art made me get really into Akeshu/Suake and I cannot thank you enough, Royal may have really feed us, but the og fandom made themselves the food, even if I drift apart from P5 at times, I know I can always come back to the ao3 tag and videos like this. Out of all the animatics I've seen in every fanbase I've ever taken part of, I think this one is my favorite. The music fits perfectly with their relationship, and the animation is absolutely beautiful. It's so polished and clean. And that second cup of coffee that will never be touched.... it's something I can see happening, and ouch.

I feel for Akechi... He redeems himself by stalling Shido's shadows which was fatal to him... And jokers wish in the fake reality brought him back. Akechi though being an ace at figuring things out knows this is a paradox though, he knew he died in Shido's palace because he experienced it. Even if his memory was wiped he is still astute enough to call out the bullshit of the situation he's faced with.
