0:26 - Thanks, the last time fell, I wanted to get up quickly as though nothing happened....
😂
Great idea but with bad knees that probably won't work. You also need strong arms.
Shoulders especially...I got a lot of shoulder pain after getting up a few times
Best lesson explanation. Exactly what I wanted to understand better❤
I don't know where this video was made, but as a ski instructor I would be fired for teaching you to bend that knee in. It may work but we teach it where you transfer your weight from side to side while maintaining the space between your legs. If you turn that knee in you will no longer have that between your legs. I'm thinking it's a European thing.
When you gain enough experience, you realize that simply applying weight to one foot isn't effective; it's about balancing and turning the ski. You can put 100% of your weight on one ski, but it won't change direction unless the ski is on its edge. This video is a clear explanation and a valuable tip, unrelated to European methods. Avoid getting stuck in old-school rigid methodologies.
Muito obrigada pelo video.
Great tips thank you very much

Nunca vi ninguém fazendo Isso, amanhã vou tentar! Tenho bastante dificuldade para levantar.
Good tips!!! 🤘🏼
Missing about 2 meters of snow, so I don’t know if it’s good…
For sure 2 meters of snow would be very nice! However we can still find good snow after so many weeks without fresh snow
Thank you so much ❤ ... Today I fell when I was skiing 😢 ... a nice old man helped me to stand on my feet again, I just want to able doing it by my self ... 😊 ... I hope I will not fall tomorrow, but if I fall 😊 I will try your tips .
If I'm turning right, i push on my left leg. What about the right leg?
Its not just pushing its also balancing on the left ski and to be more precise I balance in the inside of the ski, slightly on the edges.... and not on a flat ski. Just by doing this correctly you will start to drift to the right .. Now that I'm starting to drift I also help the ski by actually turning the ski/foot, this way I complete the turn. With the outside foot, if you inside is foot is doing the correct thing, your outside foot should not interfear to much. If it does, then make sure that the ski is flat and unweighted and keep you legs apart, that should do it. Off course there are other ways to correct particular issues, but that's why sometimes you'll need a lesson too! I hope this makes sense...
The inside ski during a snowplow turn (in this case, as you turn right, is your right ski), tries to stay light (you try to place most of your weight on the ski exterior of your turn, left ski here, and balance on it) and transition the ski from the interior edge to be flat (and eventually to the exterior edge as you improve) to facilitate the pivoting of this ski to the right, with the same radius and timing as the exterior ski.
Very good tutorial. Thank you
Helped me a lot!
👍
I guess "Coming soon" is a relative term.
😂You are totally right and hit a sore spot... We are a small ski school, we started the videos with a lot of good intentions, the C19 struck, and after that, we always have been so busy and many other circumstances haven't let us carry on filming more tutorials, but we are committed to try, if we get a bit more snow this season, film and edit more tutorials this winter... We are so sorry we haven't been able to carry on creating new tutorials for our audience... Coming soon promise 😉
Please please please please 🙏 moar tutorials of intermediate and advanced would be amazing. Your explanations and animations are second to none! 🥩 We all need videos to send to our friends to get them to the next level, because the better they are the more fun you can have!

Exactly what i was looking for
Thank you so much, soon more tutorials 😃
Teaching a snowplow turn is never a good way to teach people what skiing is and how to do it. It ruins all beginners and makes learning parallel turns much harder. The skis are made to turn when you balance on one and then the other. You can't balance on a ski that isn't under you. Will your skis turn in a snowplow? Yes if, you are doing everything right with the rest of your body. When your speed picks up too much, you will lose control and crash because a snowplow is only good for very slow stops like in a lift line.
Totally best lesson for me - I am "neverending beginner" and it moves me on further, thank you a lot! I would me happy for Lesson 4! :-)
this is an excellent channel for beginners like me. ! this guy explains and shows in simple and easy comprehension. i wish he would upload more tutorials...... especially on making parallel turns.
Glad you like them!
best lesson! -very simple and clear! thanks

I wish i could see your vídeo on paralell turns, before my trip to the snow next monday. Pleaaassee.
We are going to carry on with all the videos for al the progression. Unfortunately we are a small team of coaches and finding time during the season isn't easy, but some are in production already. Not on time for your trip though, so sorry
Great vídeo. Adresses the right things to do, and most importantly, the wrong things also. Anyone can save hours of training by watching your vídeos. Superb job. Congrats
Thank you so much for you support Mauricio!!

Hey Nikola! Thanks for the compliment. We will continue to do more tutorials soon. We have been busy with our ski school in Verbier. But it's comentd like yours that makes us want to get back on it... Cheers

But the hip.
Hi Conrad. In our experience it's best not to talk about the hip at such early stages and hope that with the right drills the hip will naturally fall in place! But good point
@@dropinsnow4608 would be interested to know some good drills. I'm currently having problems with my hip. Cant seem to get far enough forward, bending my legs just make me backseat and teacher keeps yelling at me to stop using edge.... so confused...
@@Ninjasticks as a drill, try to separate your feet wider and bring you hip forward as if you were going to the toilet...bring your pelvis forward like peeing.. Best way to explain! This will make you totally rest on your boots. Once you have this feeling, start to bend your knees, but never lose the contact/feeling of leaning completely on the boots. We have an other tutorial that might help a little. It's our first one I belive.
Great video
So great!
Thanks Megan! we will be posting more videos soon!
Turn it up! TURN IT UP!!!

Dropin é uma escola de Ski nos Alpes Suiços simplesmente fantástica! Como o filme demonstra a técnica parece simples mas necessita ser explicada com muita sabedoria e paciência. Drop in proporcionou-me momentos intensos e de grande adrenalina. Foi um desafio descer as montanhas nos Alpes após algumas aulas com DropIn. Foi possível! Nem acreditava ! Obrigada , Dropin ! Filmes como este , precisam-se!
