Nice see you're still playing Gus
Thanks mate
I wish I had a TARDIS to keep my guitars in.
Sounding really good! Doesn't need more cowbell.
Thanks mate
My video ❤️x
Howe belongs without a shadow at the 10 strong rock-guitarists,Round-Table alongside,Page,Hendrix,Gilmour,Knopfler et al.
His guitar is not aggressive, which is why he has been familiar for many years.
THE BEST GUITARRIST IN THE UNIVERSE
Just the best
Love this so 🫠
Thank you for uploading this, it’s impossible to find otherwise.
His english is very upper class and soft whilst conversing with thy ladie. Amazing bit of YES Yestory!!!
Rock dude wearing a wide collar shirt and a british schoolboy pullover, plays chambre music on his electric guitar to the delight of the hostess, who is profoundly intrigued by the concept of electric guitar, and not ready to hear rock n roll. Geez Steve Howe, what did you have to go through.
Not so long ago really, yet see how far we have fallen in standards of decency.
Imagine him being interviewed on The View or Kimmel. Better yet, Chelsea Handler
Well rehearsed, even asking if the French were the best at making Guitars and Steve moving on to a English Guitar. That was Pro TV. That Last Guitar would be used on ASIA's Albums, since she said "used to be a rock Guitarist in YES" I'm going with this being 1980 - 81. After the Drama Tour.
Many thanks for this. Last track around 1:07:34 is not Limelight
yes
Phenomenal guitar player. Howe was voted "Best Overall Guitarist" in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977-1981) - watch him do: Mood for a Day or The Clap ( among many others ). My favorite: Siberian Khatru
Steve Howe is the guitar geek that all other guitar geeks should look up to. I that there are probably quite a few American guitarists who would be impressed by his technical knowledge of Gibson guitars in particular. Oh, and he's also an absolutely phenomenal player also !
i bet trogly would love to see this. he owns that the les paul again..
Trogly has that "The Les Paul" now
#TroglysGuitarShow scored the #TheeLesPaul owned by #SteveHowe and interviewed the man himself in 2024. He owned it, then sold it, and then bought it back, #Yes
Steve didn't really show his amazing prowess on six strings. He should have played The Clap which knocked me out when I bought the Yes Album back in the early Seventies!
Trogly's guitar brought me here.
The man is an absolute genius!
Trogily guitar owns that red les paul today.
Let that hair down lady you're talking to a rock star. You look like a spinster librarian and that get up isn't helping either.
And Trogly now owns that Les Paul at 4:07
very very good documentary. Alas, the pitch is so erratic (Beta or VHS format?) but who cares.....
42 year old VHS tape, original recorder long gone, I had to buy a second hand one, and that was the best I could do.
The real value of the document is the interview in itself. When we were young we watched many videos out of tracking, with image interruptions etc and we were happy anyway, isn't it?@@M66GUS
Looks like he's in part of the TARDIS
Just came from Troglys interview with Steve over The Les Paul. So good to see it alive and well and could listen to Steve talk guitars for hours.
Cool that they did the interview in the tardis.
You can't top this music. The greatest band to ever walk on stage. Like a massive meal that was made by God
Was she also on Doctor Who?
Looks like she should have lol
I was a day early, was at the 15th May gig. Miss them
Me too, so very much
an extraordinary time capsule all the way around
I think, this transmission was from the year 1979, because Steve played pieces from his newly published at the time - second Soloalbum titled 'The Steve Howe Album' from 1979. Here he'd played, for example excerpts from 'Rondo' (at the beginning) as well as the piece 'The Continental' (in the credits of the show). Steve Howes second Solo Album 'The Steve Howe Album, is a very varied, great Album - an absolute listening pleasure. ☺
Was this recorded in a tardis?
Steve , Master of Masters , that Gibson es 175 is My imposible dream...
What a night!!
Proper Englishmen and women
I only have a 1960ish sea green blue ish Gibson es 345 that my grandma and I got that I'm pretty good at and not ashamed of, play most classic rock, Rock ability, country, psychedelic rock, blues, from most various artists bands! I would love to have a es 175, byrdland some day!
In 2006 I was made redundant from a job and had around £5k to splash on some new gear. I visited Andy's in Denmark St and they had a blonde Byrdland up for £4k. I'd always wanted one but really couldn't justify spending that much on a guitar that would probably just live under my bed lol. So I ended up buying a Mesa Boogie Roadking Head instead. About two years later, I visited Andy's again and they still had the Byrdland except it was now £8k!!!
I’ve got a Split Pigs VHS video in my loft in my house in England. Gonna have to dig it out when I’m next back. Saw so many bands at the Robey. Always a fun time especially when you lot were on the bill.
Impeccable!
Wow, they filmed it in The Tardis! Cool!
7:50 Wow. His last guitar sounded horrible. It's no wonder Gibson doesn't make those anymore.
you did notice the video wasn't in prime condition, looks / sounds like an aging control track issue and that sort of thing can affect the audio portion as well. That is unless the audio is ONLY on the hi-fi stereo track which is multiplexed into the video track. Hope that makes sense, to you all. Well, anyway that's my take on the poor sound overall. I wont defend that guitar either, lol I just don't like it.
Dang,,, she shore is purdy,,,😆
Great interview, plus it takes place in the TARDIS.
Color, black and white, color, black and white. Either colorize the video or dont! Lol who edited this?
Wow, over a quarter of a million views and you're the only one to complain! Nice one. It was a direct transfer from a very old VHS, you should be grateful it's there at all.
@@M66GUS I appreciate the video, I would just appreciate it more if it wasn't changing from colour to black and white every second. It is what it is. Probably nothing you could have done to prevent it.
If you could just add where he lives and when he's not at home.
Seen them in hinkley, brilliant.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Steve would probably agree. "And don't point" th-cam.com/video/g7-5io1muSQ/w-d-xo.html
