If you fly business class it is included. When flying economy, paid access is possible and that will cost €60 per person. Seats have been re-upholstered and are now yellow in one part of the lounge and blue in another part.

For intercontinental flights the lounge is indeed not in the best place, with it being in the Schengen area. Travelling from Schiphol frequently means you can apply for a Privium Card (there is a yearly fee). With this card, you get to skip the lines at security and immigration and then you can move more easy between the Schengen and non-Schengen area of the airport. It still can mean quite a hike to the gate though…

It is a matter of setting the expectations right. Indeed there is a big difference with long haul business class, but I choose this for the extra hand baggage allowance. Internet on short haul flights is a bit unnecessary, but if they offer it, the airline should make sure it works…

The chicken was the starter and for main course the only thing left was vegetarian. Passengers cannot choose a starter, only a main course…

I was one of the first in the lounge on this day. On a recent visit to another lounge (in Paris), the workstations were full of people working (or pretending to work 😜).

Yes, I asked the cabin crew and a crew member said this was the reason. Maybe silly, but I would have less of a problem when the frequent flyer status was the reason (a token of appreciation for the business they bring to the airline).

@@raldiontheroad You should try flying Air Canada business class. Their flight attendants jump around the cabin when taking meal orders based on frequent flyer status. This is why some frequent travelers stick to the same airline alliance and do whatever they can (eg. buy higher fares to get full status points/miles, do mileage/points/segment runs et.) to maintain their status.

​​⁠ That may indeed be the case, but I don’t have a real problem with that as this is a token of appreciation for brining the revenue to the airline. With this flight I had with AF, the crew indicated it was based solely on the language spoken by passengers and in my opinion that is not right.

I was there in April and it was closed because I arrived at the airport early, not because of construction or anything. Not sure why it wasn’t open yet and I have not asked. I was not on the first BA or AA flight….

Ground staff is indeed do not always know their stuff, but I have seen worse than BA…

Have only used. B.A.’s First once, that was a few years ago. I decided to try it compared to my usual Business long haul. Yes it was slightly better but to be honest not worth the extra cost, unless of course you’re on an expense a/c 😊. The dedicated check in area at T5 LHR was nice however the F.A. who checked me in was not exactly helpful, even failing to direct me to the First Class lounge. Now I use Air France Business, so far I’ve found them excellent in all departments .

I,would be interested in learning how much you paid for this flight.

That is a good question. I am not a big pancake eater, so have not been lookingfor it. I have reviewed all the footage I have shot and did not see any. Note that I was there ridiculously early, so maybe later in the morning they had them....?
