No one ...sadly machianics suck too much money and not trustworthy , so i am fkd !...up shit highway 66 on a overheating dodge ... I just don't know were to go from here , i replaced T , stat , waterpump , rediator hoses and cap , and did the burping bleeding prosses and still the GOTT DAM DODGE DURANGO OVERHEATING NEVER HAVE I BEEN SO DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED WITH DODGE AND THE WHOLE PROCESS ...
Thanks
NEVER TRUST ANY MACHIANICS YOU DON'T KNOW AT TIMES EVEN IF YOU KNOW THEM
After a pressure check on mine, it turned out that the two hoses going into the heater block were leaking since they are crimped in place and over time (and rough country roads) the crimps loosen up.
My son has a 2005 Durango 4.7 and I battled an overheating problem for months. The front air deflector was missing a large piece so I replaced it and that wasn't it. It turned out to be that radiator, large crack on the front upper side of the tank adjacent to the upper hose. Replaced the rad, hoses, thermo, clamps and new coolant. She is a happy truck now.
Thank you so much
How much did the mechanic charge you for a new clutch fan installed
It's simple you can do it never say never even TH-cam VIDEO'S to show you how
Its like 25 bucks and two big wrenches, takes less than 35 seconds to replace. Its FREE
Thanks 🙏🙏
Yeah i burnt my arm
Thank you. 22 years and one finally burned out.. Lol. Thank you thank you! P.S. I was wrong. Just a bad connection. Cleaned it up and the bulb worked just fine. 😁
Thanks brother i hope this works for me this week
What is the hose that connects to the oil cap thing name??
Approciate that I started the same way
What if it's not the thermostat, and it's the hose from the radiator it's leaks. What do I do In that situation
bypass hose being blocked would only come into play when the thermostat is closed
Thank you so much!!!
Did you blow the head gasket by driving it home while it was overheating
Click bait
Great video brother. We have and 06 5.7 and it started over heating when were going on a long trip. I initially thought it was the thermostat and had it changed on the way. The problem continued and we turned back. I went to my regular mechanic and he changed the fan clutch. It is a common problem with this model.
I have a 04 Dodge ram with a 5.7 hemi and when I go on long trips it says that it's overheating as I'm driving but I never ever have to add any fluids would you have in that same problem? And get changing the clutch fan fix it? And thank you sir for the video
Thank you! Troubleshooting is a tough task and every last bit of information is helpful!👍👍
Who else is just trying to clean their wheels?
Could this be my issue on my durango it's a 5.7 magnum hemi awd
Why didn't u take it to ur mechanic friend in the first place? He seems damn good.
My Daughters Durango oil light comes on when she excelarates and it never shows if it's hot. I sent her this video. Thank you for sharing ♡
Como quitar el radiador
My did and turned out it was my radiator
I had the same overheating problem new radiator new hose new thermostat but nothing worked so i used the old thermostat and drill holes around it no more overheating runs grate
Smoke check passes very good
Is there any troble code that shows up when the fan is not working?
Thanks for showing us absolutely nothing! Why bother taking a video after everything is buttoned up. Take the center cap off use the tire iron that is stored with the spare in the boot, then use the other side of the tire iron to remove the lug nuts. And PLEASE people don’t drive like an ahole pay for a tow rather than putting people’s lives in danger.
This was more helpful than the video thanks.
Thanks man😊👍🇧🇻
I replaced t stat, w pump, rad fan, and radiator im still over heating. Next is the temp sensor hoping that fix my overheating problems..
Here's a thought...how about you diagnose the problem before you go parts swapping?
I have the same problem with my 2004 dodge Durango 4.7 v8 and the fan is turning just fine I dont know what else it could be, if I turn the heat on it runs coolant through the system
Great video! Thanks I'm replacing my radiator today and didn't know where the thermostat was. Very helpful.
been through exactly this and was even advised new fan clutch. ended up the new thermostat was faulty. it's HUGE to clear all air in the system. this I found to be the major issue and took several times to get it done.
??? why are people so dumb, dont know that all Dodge/ Chrysler , BMW BENZ GERMAN any quality vehicles come with Fan clutches..... # 1 CAUSE OF DESTROYED ENGINES EVERY DAY $50 PART !!!! FIRST THING YOU CHECK it's called maintenance?? MAINTENANCE!!! if you're not a mechanic ask one!!! those guys telling you u had a cracked block were thieves ! they would have faked a repair ,then replaced the fan clutch and said tadaaaA!! Always get a second opinion ...ALWAYS just like DR"S
2007 Chrysler aspen limited cranks but won't start after warerpump and thermostat change
Anthony Brown crankshaft position sensor
I have a 2004 dodge dakota and it's been overheating it's a 4.7 V8 I changed the thermostat and it's still overheating I'm thinking about changing the radiator bc I think I might have a leak. What do you recommend?
5.7 thermostat is on top hose
I need help I have a 2003 Durango with 4.7 motor is bad, will the 2004 Durango with the 4.7 fit with no issue?
Al change the t sat to 180
we have been going crazy trying to figure out why my truck is overheating. thank you for the tip. never thought about the fan! going to check that out asap!
Did it fix your issue?
@@flameball87 ended up being a plug of some sort or sensor I can’t remember lol but it was to far in the engine for us to fix we ended up trading it for a new vehicle 😊
@@jamierincon828wow you got scammed at least youre happy?
I HAVE 2004 DODGE DURANGO 4WD, ONE I HAVE NO HEAT AND MY TEMP THAT WAS RUNNING NORMAL IS RUNNING HOT EVEN JUST AFTER A SHORT AMOUNT OF DRIVING. ANY IDEAS?
Jan McDonald thermostat
turn off caps lock Thermostat and dump the coolant
Water pump impeller rusted away, not enough coolant flow in system.
Engine Ice and 180 t sat
?
the lower radiator hose is cold the other one is hot so I was thinking maybe the radiator is blocked up , I replace that still having the same problem with the lower house being cold and the upper hose being hot getting no heat either.
water pump
Thermostat is seized
I have an 06 with a 4.7 and the same type of problem, but my water pump was leaking so I replaced that and I might as well replace the thermostat since everything is taken out. Put coolant back in there and ran it for a while started overheating again.
right in my hand, she came. exposing the lug nuts. hahahah.... sorry.
poetry! Right out of Hermann Melville or something! Edgar Allan Poe.
thank you :)... I just don't drive my Durango in the middle of traffic to avoid overheating. But this is a good-to-knowing tips for RT as well.
😍
What good is a vehicle if you can't even drive it in traffic?
how much for clutch fan repair??
great video, I have a 4.7 in my Dakota..question when the temp was back to normal where was it running at? mine is just slightly left of vertical.. I have no # on my gauge..just curious if yours is the same ..thanks
Most vehicles should have the temperature gauge reading just slightly under half way on the gauge most of the time. Unless it is a extremely hot day or you have low coolant or some other problem it shouldn't really ever get past halfway. An efficiently operating vehicle will probably keep it no more than three eighths up the gauge.
thank you!
