The current fiat system wants you to work harder, longer, and for less. While at the same time they rake in record profits off your back of cheap labor and then tell you to be grateful for the opportunity to be working here. It's a modern day system of wage slaves...

Isn’t there a potential upside that should addressed here? People have been complaining about the lowering of standards at fast food places for many years. Possible that one way to justify higher prices to consumers is to improve the experience (accuracy, food quality, speed, cleanliness, customer service, etc.). The business owners who focus on those items rather than cutting costs as low as possible (which is usually a bad idea in the long term), will outcompete the penny-pincers and have the opportunity to buy them out at bargain prices.

When people understand the ones who push these ideas absolutely do not believe in them theirselves. They have another agenda entirely and the selfish people play right into their hands it seems everytime. They believe these politicians have their best interests in mind lol. There is a reason why your "great state" is the richest yet has the highest homelessness in the u.s. and when it rolls on down to the more wealthier which it will people will realize just how foolish they were.

    * Great Reporting Brother. The BIG LOSERS are going to be the older population who are on a fixed income. I don't eat that garbage and if it only effected the people who choose to eat at those places i wouldn't care. The nature of this country is when the wages go up businesses get a hard on and start raising prices. Look at what happened during the. Plan-demic. Did I put an L in that word. Let's pretend My back space don't work within acceptable parameters. Back to the subject. I was 17 or 18 when minimum wage came in. It was a solid drumroll, $1.50 an hour. That was $60.00 before taxes. That was for 40 hours. I didn't realize how long this was going to be. Be Well Nabaki Wmafrica Mack 50:33

@thecommoncentsshow My last comment about the $1.50 an hour minimum wage. After reading the comment again today. Minimum wage might have been $1.25 an hour. Summer of 68, I worked that job until the end of the first week in August. The second week I was on a train headed to West Coast. School and work, 20 hours a week at drumroll $4.00 an hour. There might be a part3 Nabaki Wmafrica Mack

Our money went from something you stand in public and talk to other people about, before making a wish, or hope, and flicking a coin into a fountain of water, to something people treat like gambling chips, in just 20 years. Use to get so excited finding change, now it's just depressing cause you have to find it repeatedly all the time or it's useless.

My thought is that the Gig economy is forcing the hand of capitalism. This ruling will be upheld because most businesses are already losing their employees to self-employment gig economy, etc. Most employees these days are savvy enough to watch a TH-cam video and figure out that if they started at 10:99 it would be better off doing the same thing, then working at W-2 job

Ummmmm.... You're not coming into this with common sense nor a fair stance. Yes, SOME of the franchise owners own one or two locations. However, the FACT is the majority of franchise owners own many many locations. Your entire premise overlooks the reality is MOST franchises are owned by corporations. If you can't pay a fair, livable amount for everything you NEED to run a business you don't deserve to claim a profit. That's supply and demand. There's so many companies that pay a living wage and keep competitive prices. Plus you're talking about PEOPLE!!! This is about BUSINESSES. you're cutting out the facts in order to fit your desired end result. See the below facts u r irresistibly ignoring: McDonald's annual gross profit for 2023 was $14.563B, a 10.26% increase from 2022. McDonald's annual gross profit for 2022 was $13.207B, a 4.98% increase from 2021. McDonald's annual gross profit for 2021 was $12.58B, a 29% increase from 2020. Please note: wages paid and average locations owned by franchises.

Im not sure why everyone is suprised that the prices are so high. You made a legal requirement for people to intract with these private companies offered no alternative, allowed them to discriminate on factors that no other company can discrimante based on ex:age, and gender (also if you dont think they factor in race I can basically guarantee they do) simply because they paid for studies that show a corelation. What annoys me is hearing for all of these years that theyre justified in charging me over $200 per month because I'm a 20 year old male, but now that they're coming for the rest of you its a problem. You made your bed. Sleep in it.

Glad you brought up Florida I was watching the news when it started to happen. First Florida had buttload of contractors illegally putting claims in for new roofs so that was a big Scandal but also a big chunk of money the insurance company's lost with that and the increase in hurricanes damage from hurricanes that insurance companies had to put out money to 1/2 repair houses many insurance companies decided to stop selling in Florida and to help make up their losses these big companies that also are throughout the country selling homeowners insurance car insurance they said it at the time couple of years ago that all the insurances will go up throughout the whole country. Florida and the rest of the red states that have a lot of disasters hurricanes have to start paying their own bills and not relying on FEMA Federal Government to pay their bill and It can easily be done some of these states don't even have state income tax which would help pay for that stuff and still have money left over for corrupt the Republican politicians to pocketed

Personally, I don't want my tax dollars going to subsidize large corporations or franchises because they don't want to pay their workers a living wage.
