    Way back in the day Ron was a huge help to the team I was a part of as well as many others. Always there to talk on the phone after each event, would hustle an engine to the airport when needed, and very down to earth even when giving me a tour of his shop after he invited me for a visit. Thought I was in the wrong lobby when I saw all these different types of machine knifes. He's a great person and surrounds himself with the best of people. This video brought many great memories. You cant go wrong with Shaver Racing Engines.

    I would love to try your stuff on a new 410 sprint build. We have been using t&d and jesel. But I called and your lead time was 4 weeks. And that is just unacceptable

    You folks need to follow Lake Speed Jr. The engine oil geek. His data shows that too much zinc increases engine wear. Please be careful about myths vs the data. You should collaborate with the folks like Lake Speed on engine oil.

      He said zinc (zddp) can cause a certain kind of corrosion on internal surfaces.

    Excellent and very informative video. I’m rebuilding a 400 SBC with an Eagle rotating assembly that includes Mahle PowerPak pistons and a 1-1-2mm ring package. What an improvement over the stock 5/64 cast rings! I also did a rough calculation and it looks like this modern rotating assembly will have something like 5 pounds less reciprocating mass. With more compression (9.8:1), a hydraulic roller cam and AFR heads the old 400 will transformed.

    Just got off the phone with Darrell. I have a set of Reid Rocker arms for my 392 Gen 1 HEMI. I got these second hand. Had a few questions. Darrell answered every question I had and seemed happy to do so. Seems to me to be a great guy.

    Very very interesting presentations. Thanks so much for posting. I have had so many problems with my K20 Turbo builds. Every one seems to go well for say 2 or three race hours but then they destroy their centre main and other bearings leaving the Big Ends perfect. Odd indeed ! I've built several race engines over the years including N/A K20's but this issue has me baffled. Any ideas ? (For the last build I increased the Pressure stage size of the AT Power DS Pump but when I dismantled the pump the outer body of that preesure stage is destroyed as is the rotor, while scavenge stages are fine. (I should point out that the SQ6 ECU has a "Low Oil Pressure High RPM" engine cut parameter so the engine stps instantly when oil press is low. All comments appreciated.

    I will definitely get some soon. I have started running methanol fuel, and I don’t have a lot of experience with it. I had to pull the engine out due to ring failure and nobody could convince me why. when I get it back from the engine builder, I will definitely start using it regularly. I didn’t even know the product was out there until I saw someone hand a can to a person I follow on TH-cam know as Jimmy Dale.
