Doug look into building you a waist oil heater for your shop dude!! An old fuel oil heater works great .. Get you some good heat going , keep warm you will get more done in there. Good luck 👍!!

It can work if its prepared properly, but you need to empty it heat it to get all the oil out the crack, you could tig it with the brazing rod for tig welding? practice on another box,, hope your son is better, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones

hint for you Doug mate..... for future reference, if there is no drain pug, you put the car on ramps or stands at the front and slowly loosen off the bolts all round but mostly the rear..... this way all the fluid runs to the rear of the pan where you have your bucket to catch it... as it slows down unscrew the bolts a little more, slowly lowering the rear of the pan til drained :)

Good day Dirty Doug . Ya buddy my suggestion, grind and clean up that crack and JB weld it. IM A TRUE BELIEVER AND SUPER CRITICAL ON IT BEING SUPER CLEAN AND USING THE PRODCT ( JB WELD )EXACTLY LIKE THE DIRECTIONS THEY TELL YOU. After the JB weld is all set up, i would cover all of the JB weld with a nice smear of that orange high heat gasket maker that you use for headers and exhaust manifolds .FUCK now that im thinking about it, fuck the jb weld ,its a flexing crack just use the gasket maker for the repair and the oil pan using the old gasket. OH ! AND THROW IN A SMALL round magnet into the oil pan to catch all the rest of the silver LOL YOUR A HARD WORING GOOD MAN & FATHER DOUG 😉👊👍💪

Hey Doug; why did you not remove the ftont bumper on the Mustang?

Weld it, put the pan on, fill it up and run it ... I've seen filings many a time where a transmission still shifted well and they usually continued to do so. Keep an eye on it as in keep it topped up and all you stand to lose is the transmission fluid if it fails. It will likely be fine as long as it wasn't making any odd sounds or missing shifts.

Clean it the best you can j b weld it , put new filter and new fluid in it and drive it as long as you can buddy.

Dirty Doug clean the crack put 1/8”hole at each end of the crack,put a groove in the crack clean it either get somebody to weld it or put jb weld on it and then put the trans back together with new filter gasket and new fluid and run it

Doug that transmission is fucked cut you losses buddy you will JB weld it up and get 5km down the road and it will blow up leaving you stranded have another beer bud and pack that Vue in out back.

Doug, I believe there is a drain and fill plug on the transmission housing. Some of the metal could be from the housing where it cracked.

That thing you was wiping your finger on was the magnet to collect the metal filings. Now there are some bigger chunks in the pan for sure. JB Weld it and run it. It’ll either blow or go!🇺🇸🙏

is the automatic oil pan metal ?? if so weld in a slider rails, or two at different spots.. then slide hd magnets in slider to pickup metal shards as the get into oil
