Although primarily an NBC affiliate, WLEX-TV in Lexington, Kentucky carried Daly's ABC evening newscast in 1955.

Anyone who (mistakenly) thinks the 1950s was an idyllic time in the U.S. should watch this vintage newscast--especially the reports on school desegregation.

This was about a month after NBC lauched The Huntley-Brinkley Report with Chet Huntley and David Brinkley to compete against Daly on ABC and Douglas Edwards on CBS.
