This was a helpful video. Just make sure that removing the (shifter control) panel to start in the front by lifting up and then slide the panel forward to release it.

How do you reset it ? Or do you have to replace it ? I called the dealer and wants to charge me 670 dollars for a new one and charge me 170 dollars to reprogram it to the car.

In your vehicle was the fix to replace the sensor with a used one or did u pull the head off of the old sensor and add the head from another sensor after you pushed the red pin back into place? Please clarify as your pics looks like u did that. Thanks please clarify how u fixed the sensor

2 screws on each side console lifts up u can remove from the back took me 15min didn't touch nothing what u said😂

Dude you should make the video 2 minute longer but don’t skip. I literary was unscrewing everything till I realized the 2 screws under the plastic cover. It would save me two hours

Hello, I'm working on a 2018 VW Atlas. Question, I have a B189CF0 "Crash Shut-Off, Active code. When I removed the Airbag Module, I Still Have that code, and U015100 "Lost Communication With Airbag Control Module". These codes are located in the Diagnositic Data Interface-Gateway. However the only codes scanned that were located in the Airbag Module location, were for the Pass. and Driver Belts, as they should, due to the Belts being deployed from the impact. From prior VW's The so called "Crash Data/Crash Shut-off data was located in the Airbag Module. Will having the Airbag Module serviced, remove this "Crash Shut off, Active Code in the Diagnositic Data Interface-Gateway. In other words the gateway can not be be fully cleared, untill it sees some kinda reset info from the Airbag module, or is this some type of dealer only procedure to remove this Crash Code. Hi dear, In this case, if you find another Airbag Module (Same Part Number) from other car WITHOUT crash. It can replace the original Airbag Module directly? or is necessary program the new Airbag Module with data of VIN chasis ECU BCM information? please your comments. Thank you.

my car is 2017, got accident and same sensor is showing. but also my steering wont lockup after accident. I am assuming its the same sensor causing this thing?

Go to Occupant Classification System OCS on your diagnosis Scanner device and delete the DTC.. it should fix the problem
