I think that Jesus could see that this man felt that he was righteous because he followed the commandments and had been blessed with material wealth. Jesus pointed out to him that he was prideful and needed to trust the salvation that God offered rather than his “goodness”. Moral wealthy people need a savior just as much as poor wretched people - like me.
Well put! Thanks for sharing.
Each day is a new opportunity to live for Christ - I love this truth! Thank you for the great devotional!

No such thing happened. The whole thing is fabrication.
Due respect, but this is abysmally bad and utterly illogical. Your defense relies entirely on the bible; that makes it the most perfectly circular reasoning possible. Why is the story of Adam and Eve true? The bible says so. Why do we know the bible is true? The bible says so. Historicity is a question of actual evidence, and you have none. Also, utterly destroying your claim that the story of Adam and Eve is true is the patent impossibility of both of the mutually contradictory creation stories being true. It is tautological that 2 different things cannot both be true, in the same way and at the same time. Your bible specifically describes, for one example, Eve being created after Adam, from his rib, and also Eve being created at the same time as Adam. Those two claims cannot be harmonized. This is but one of several direct contradictions between the first story, starting in Genesis 2, and the later story from Genesis 1.Quod erat demonstrandum, one is false, and therefore the bible, specifically this portion of it, is not reliable. You are, of course, welcome to believe whatever you want. But when you claim factual accuracy - historicity - you enter the realm of logic, facts, and evidence. And in that realm, the Genesis stories cannot be held reliable.
Hi! Thanks for listening & thanks for your feedback. The goal of the first part of this devotional is to help Bible readers determine whether the Bible is presenting Adam & Eve as real people, or as allegorical. The term "historicity" does invite scrutiny regarding fossil evidence, extra-Biblical writings, etc., so I modified the title & description accordingly to more accurately reflect my above stated goal. I still hold to the position that Adam & Eve were real people. No time now to respond to your comment regarding the two creation accounts, but thanks again! Respectfully, Dave Gremban
@@ccannarbor Thanks for the reply. I think you have done well changing the title to reflect your purpose.
