When was the last time you saw a company that moved offshore to save money, reduce the price they charge when they sell the product back into the U.S.?? When they build for less offshore and make more money, the management and company insiders get big raises, stock options and bonuses. JD is no exception. It’s time for the federal government to do things to benefit the Americans who did work for Deere and the American farmers. One thing that you didn’t mention was that all heavy equipment manufacturers are killing American jobs because they all are manufacturing equipment in other countries all over the world. It really doesn’t matter what color your tractor is more than likely the manufacturer tag on the tractor will be stamped made in some other country than the United States. Other countries have become so efficient at farming they are really become major suppliers of grain products on a global basis. Something the people reading this should know is that grain companies are not United States companies only they are huge global companies. Environmental laws come into play a lot differently in foreign countries than the United States. Corporate greed is only one reason for manufacturing moving out of our country. Manufacturing has been leaving our country for years this is nothing new. Globalization is another reason why American jobs are being destroyed. John Deere in the farming industry used to be a high quality built equipment now that won’t be the case anymore. In the end by moving totally out of the United States could very well cost them in market shares both in equipment sales and stock price. As far as tariffs go this is a double edged sword and Deere won’t be the only company being hit hard. More and more Americans are seeing their jobs disappear and going to other countries it’s time the federal government does something to protect Americans and their jobs. And this may very start happening in 2025.

Are you a person or an AI voice? Regardless of the answer, you don't seem to know much about business. You keep repeating the same thing over and over again. You seem to think that John Deere owes the American farmer a living. They don't. If the average farmer wants to participate in Deere's corporate profit, they can. Just buy shares in the company. Deere is in business to make a profit, just like every other business in the country. Pick on Ford, or GM, or Tesla, or any other manufacturing company and every one of them operates for the purpose of making a profit. Now I don't know how Deere can stop someone from fixing their own equipment, but I have little doubt that parts to fix almost any Deere product are available in the aftermarket. It is highly likely that these parts are made offshore, something akin to the automotive aftermarket. There is hardly anything that you cannot buy in the way of car repair parts from your local parts dealer. Almost without exception, these parts are made in China and they are invariably cheaper. I am not suggesting that such parts are of equal quality to American made parts, but when you are having repairs done by your local fix-it guy, you always want the cheapest price, right? Mango Man wants to add huge tariffs to everything coming in to the US from offshore. He is of the erroneous opinion that this will enable American companies to compete with those offshore. Sorry to say that it won't. The ill informed president elect doesn't seem to grasp how tariffs work. He thinks that China, or Mexico, or Korea - or where ever these parts come from - are the ones to pay these costs. False. The importer pays up front, and passes along the costs to the retail buyer, typically adding a few percent to cover their extra work. How is it that US workers are paid considerably more than their offshore counterparts? Simple answer again, unions. It is the unions who have got these high wages for their members. These wages are the cause of much of the price differences between domestic and offshore prices. Don't believe me? Just go to something like AliBaba and check on prices for similar items overseas and similar items in the US. If that doesn't give you a serious wake up call, then nothing will. By the way, your great businessman president elect isn't just about to do his best to ruin Deere, he's going to ruin the entire country. Just check his past record. One bankruptcy after another. Howdyyawl from the land down under. There have been a lot of out let's here in OZ that have closed for John Deere. They have been joined with other outlets to sell their products. When big companies close it forces up costs of living in communities. Then the banks follow suit. This flow on effect criples entire regions. It happened in Elizabeth South Australia when GMH closed up. I know this, I used to work there. To put profits before the workforce should be classed as a criminal act. After all, the people make the rock n roll. Treating workers like a camodity that can be bought & sold to enhance the hip pocket is wrong, this leads to no respect for any one or anything & breeds distrust. Keeping it real 😊
