I’ve had three Stihl chainsaws over the years and eventually got rid of all of them because they were just to hard to start. Switched to Echo chainsaws and haven’t looked back. Don’t get me wrong, when they ran I loved em.

I like the size. I dont use my MS170 much. Leave stored without fuel. It wont start. Put new carb on. Same problem. It will start if i put fuel in cylinder. Seems like it wont pull fuel.

I have a question. My "hook" on my throttle lever turns the opposite way of yours I cannot get my choke on and if I force it it pops my throttle arm off

Before storing a generator start it, shut the fuel line off ,let it run out of gas. You will never need to clean the carburetor with this method

I took the nuts off of the muffler I was trying to figure out why it was not starting. Now since I have taken that off the muffler won't tighten to the Head

I traded a box of shells for an old ms290, the issue I’m having is that the chain will tighten on its own when running? After adjusting the chain I’ll move it to make sure it moves freely and then it’ll tighten up and get stuck as I’m trying to move it, it’ll free up again sometimes then tighten up. Any idea what this might be? I’ve installed a new chain sprocket, new bar and chain, new chain guides. I have a new tensioner coming in but the tensioner seems to work fine?

No mention of a worn out crank? If the crank isn't spinning true anymore it will cause slack in the chain, no?

i've used my husqvarna 150BT over 50 hours, checked spark plug recently was about to change (i've had blower 3 seasons) and it still looked normal. Still operates fine too so I am thinking I will just keep using it next year.

That spark tester did not come with mine.

It's actually called a magneto not an ignition coil.

I have that exact saw and you can change the chain without removing the bar, I've done it many many times.

This is the CORRECT way to make this adjustment. Beware the folks who switch the valves, that is the exhaust on the bottom and intake on top. Stick to the Briggs recommendations.

on my 017 the master controol switch has a thin spot when you push it just past full choke, it pops right out of the clip with no effort. are you sure the new ones arent like this?

What if you seem to have too much compression and it won’t start what could be the problem?

Or you can just hold onto the spark plug with your fingers and then pull on the string to tell if it’s sparking but it’s not very comfortable

Mine stalls sometimes in cuts. Just got it off Facebook marketplace but it turns right up.
