    Ajay, you're writing paper to advise GoI on private funding in favor of acad, research 'for the greater good of mankind', but you find it difficult to win over funding for your own joint - what's missing here ? 27:34 Whoa there buddy...a favor.... Favor 'bestowed' upon India ?!!! Remember in the early days of RE/solar when everyone wanted a piece of the action, and GoI went 'hang on there buddy, not so fast' on the tariff rates, after which things sorta started slowing down a bit ? Also, there's a lot of work-in-progress on the distribution-network front, green field and major upgrades and such - which is huge, and you guys appear not too up to date on this. Opposition shouldn't end up in jail - open and unqualified statement like that ? Why are there so many Covid drug/research/contract related senate hearings in US ?

    A friend asked me recently what my favorite podcast was and I said, without a moments hesitation, that it was Everything is Everything, and gave a quick summary of what sort of topics it addresses. He asked me what is the use of knowing all those things, about policy, about how the state should function and what sort of powers the state and the individual should have over each other. Because clearly, there's nothing he or I could do about any of those. I spent a while in uffish thought. Why, indeed? And here's what I think. It's because so much of it is non-intuitive! At first reading/listening, a lot of government policy and the intent behind it is evidently driven by good objectives. Why so they invariably fail? I always thought it was some failing in the Indian character. A weak moral fibre, sharpened by generations of scarcity and want, an inherent lust for power without accountability within the state, and so on. And as I went on listening to Ajay's clear and simple explanations of the way human nature works. Of how the understanding of economics is linked to it. The nonintuitive insights that hard research has provided. How important research is, in understanding facets of this deceptively complex subject. Connecting with experiences in other countries. My thinking about it, and about many other things only tangentially connected, had cleared up enormously. It's changing one person's thinking at a time, and so much good karma to Ajay and Amit for spending so much time and effort into putting it out there for all of us. It is timeless, and you get, as a bonus, excellent coaching in the art of clear thinking.

      @soniccz100 The joke is on you, buddy! The fact you are referring to it as Mughal Age tells me you are a novice. There is no concept as such. The rulers of the time always referred themselves as lineage of some specific Turkic, Persian, or Afgha tribes. The concept of every tribe from Central asia being clubbed as a Mughal is laughable. No ruler of the time referred to themselves or their heirs as being Mughal. Stop watching too much Bollywood crap for godsakes. Next, you would start claiming Ottomans as being Mughals, too. LoL! Don't make the mistake of talking about such false concepts of Mughal history in front of Turks or, for that matter, central asians or Afgahns. Indian historians tend to romaticise and falsify too much of their own hiatory. They need to fact check with the source, the people of the region they keep labeling as Mughals this and that.

    • @soniccz100
      @soniccz100 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@A__SB you’re saying Mughal cuisine means only the cuisine from the ancient roots of Mughals. Mughal cuisine is also during the age in India in which Mughals ruled producing cuisines in India like biryani and other cuisines, using local Indian spices, and became known and popularized during this time. Mughals became Indian and produced cuisine using Indian spices. Seems pretty simple.

    • @A__SB
      @A__SB หลายเดือนก่อน

      @soniccz100 I think you are not getting the point. There is NO concept of Mughal cuisine, period! The cuisine, in India, gets influence from individual invading tribes, if any. You can't group all as Mughal, which basically means "Mongol" in English. Which, if you do your research, does not take into account a vast no. of invading tribes were Persian and Afghans, not even closely related to Mongols, which is a very geric term to describe anyone from central Asia.
