Verifying a Viton VS Buna O-ring
มุมมอง 3798 หลายเดือนก่อน
Sometimes a Viton O-ring is coloured brown but not always so how can you verify or check, whether a supplied O-ring is Viton or Buna-n? Viton is heavy and has a specific gravity of about 1.80 while Buna-n is about 0.98. If you have a fluid that's in between these two weights, one will float while the other will sink. Tetrachloroethylene (also known as Perchloroethylene) has a specific gravity o...

I've been asked to video some of my restoration work and while I'm not really comfortable in front of the lens (much prefer the other side), I figured I'd stretch myself a bit. It was not easy talking to a camera. It's been sped up so you don't have to watch paint dry. Full time was almost exactly two hours.

I have a P5000DVD unit, I have to force it open or close. it stops in the middle of opening or closing. Where can I get parts for it.Thanks....Lupe
@@milupillo020459 I doubt you will find parts for it
how much
Very cool. Just purchased a kit of Viton O-rings on amazon
I had the same in 1998
CBX too! :)
@@bundymc502 I have two CBXs and a 1984 Honda VF1000f Interceptor as well as a couple of bikes that are waiting for their restoration time
The shiny new zinc plated fasteners you buy are for sure not being polished in the factory, the plating process just takes the parts they come of the cold forming process
Super awesome woo hoo!!
Clutch is not good.
@@2018NukNuk I've done a few of these and the clutch is fine
Nice work, theres always something leaking on maiden voyage!
Are you using the muriatic acid full strength or diluted?
@@rwill2cruzer full strength for stripping and about 5-10 percent for the activation tub
Beautiful Did you add the oil lines to the head? I had one of these over 30 years ago and don’t recall have oiling issues
Wow nice job. Lorne lets me know when that band play I would like to see them. Please🙏
Also if ya dig and enjoyed this song 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. Also I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on TH-cam. 😀
Band cooks from top to bottom! Well played guys!! Nice capture Lorne!
Thanks for the vid Lorne, great job for just a hand held and no access to the board mix! Thank you everyone for the positive feed back, debut album set for release mid to late August on both streaming and hard copy formats! Stay tuned!
Good job Mike would have love to be there but had my own show that day...god bless bro.
Thank you Rob, hope your show went well, we're sure it did, you guys kick ass, god bless!
This is great , and downtown Andy browns guitar sounds is amazing
So good Lorne! Amazing what you can do with only one camera! Many thanks!
Cheers Lorne! Thank you so much!

Hi Lorne, about to do the same with mine..... did you have any concerns with the weight of the engine being supported by the exhaust headers and collector? No bending or crushing?? Cheers, Chris.
@@jagermeister3811 I wish you the best with it. If you need parts, I have a lot. Regarding the exhaust, they're very robust, almost too much. You couldn't bend them if you tried

You own the bikes I would choose if a genie granted my wish. First would be the Interceptor then the CBX. Great collection!

Looks like you have two nice bikes.
Thanks! I also have fully restored a 1984 Honda VF1000f Interceptor and I have a very original 1982 CBX in white. I think the VF1000f is on my channel somewhere
Hello, I lost the Pioneer DVD Tuner Box cxc8857, and now my AVH5200DVD does not power on. Is there any solution to make it work again, just needing to power on without the FM function? Thanks.
Man that sounds so good.
Love that Bike nice job!
Thank you!
Nice job, Lorne. Congratulations
Thanks!
I have one of these, the torque is amazing..you have done a great job.
Very cute tractor and attachment. However, this work can be done by a wheelbarrow only very slightly slower.
If you've had three back surgeries and need to innovate, it works well but thanks for trying to make everyone live your life
Beautiful work mate I did a restore on one of these myself yours is much better
Yea I got one too, I love riding at night. I changed out the instrument panel bulbs and put red bulbs in to give the gauges a brighter cool look. Great video here.
increase the idle speed adjustment screw to about 1200-1300. it idles unsmoothly, probably needs carb synch.
It was the first start so yes, it still needed synchronizing and adjusting

Beautiful.
Really helpful vid. I'm restoring a 82 GPz 550 with a fair amount of black anodized fasteners and this is the first video i've seen that covers (pun intended) that subject. Princess Auto and Cambodian Tire should subsidize your channel! Cheers from Sussex NB! 🇨🇦 😀
Thanks for the nice feedback
Well done Lorne, learnt a lot from this video even though I’ve seen many on YT, I like the simplicity of this set up, didn’t want to spend a fortune on kits, just tidying up a 1200 RT, this setup would suit me fine, thanks for sharing 👍😃
35 " is ok...54 is too big
Forgot to say the zinc roll is 39 thousandths thick by 2.5" by 65 feet and cost 26 bucks.
Muito bom
Wow!
A great machine that lives on...
Nice!
That was a great performance. Quite the band !
What is the degreaser you used prior to plating? I can’t seem to hear what you said and CC isn’t helping either lol Edit: ah, I think you’re saying Barsol, found it on the google.
I use Varsol which is a mineral spirit
very nice!
Thank you:)
