A neighborhood group of "young at heart" hikers traveled North to Wyoming to take in the trails of the Snowy Mountain Range. Forty three of the Genesee Hikers attended.

43 members of the Genesee Hikers of Golden, Colorado, spent four days exploring this wonderland in Southern Wyoming. Average age is about 70! Most of us hike the high country weekly. We're not always the fastest, but we have the most fun.

17" powder day at Mary Jane Ski Resort (a satellite to Winter Park). April 5, 2023, best day of the season! Just a sampling of the many Black Diamond runs in this part of Mary Jane. With a 91" base we were skiing 7 1/2 ft up most of the tree trunks!

Thanks for the tour. The snow is awesome at WP this week. I had the chance to drop in to Eagle Wind today from the top of the Pioneer Express lift, but I skipped it. At 8:25 that quite a few people waiting to get on the lift.

Can't say that I have, but have spent a lot of time in the Bears Ears area and further south on both sides of "Hole in the Rock". Will have to check it out.

Do you have any more footage of this trip? Very interested in the trip down from Elk Mountain to Lewis Lodge and Hotel Rock. I’ve studied this on Google satellite maps for years but I’ve never done it.
Park where you see the fence line crossing the road. Follow the trail west for about one mile. When you can see the Lewis Lodge across the ravine, look for a fracture or crack running down hill toward the mouth of the canyon. It's a little tricky maneuvering down the fracture.

We camped up a side canyon called "The Cove" about 8 miles north from the Hite Crossing entrance. It's an old cowboy camp. Two of us trailered the dirtbikes and tent camped. Our other companion had a slide-in on his pickup.

Yes same trail 4x4's take. I would not recommend doing it alone. It is extremely remote. We took the better part of one day to go out and back, most 4x4's take 2 days.
