    It seems that in motor failure, drone cannot land in control. Drone is in spiral motion so coming down is more or less not in control.

    What motors are you using? As won't they add to the rotational resistance?

      Hi Robert, thanks for asking. The motors are not always on the device, because they add weight and rotational resistance. So, for free rotation the system only use very small and light magnetic encoders for minimum weight and friction. Motors are only used for specific tests when rotational resistance is not relevant.

      Hi Rushi, Sure, let me try to explain. This is a test-bed system to test and validate new designs, electronics, flight controller algorithms, etc. The FFT GYRO is designed to simplify the process of implementation of that kind of innovation. This is not just a plain gyroscope to calibrate the flight controller or the PID parameters of a consumer drone. To be more clear, let me say an example: suppose you developed a new flight controller algorithm using machine learning, neural network, or other IA that needs training in order to optimize the performance. So you need to train the controller, and in this training, bad things could happen like a crash or something, so you need a test-bed that could help you in the first phase of training, something that helps you avoid accidents and reduce risks (safety). Now, some may think that you could just tie a rope to it and run the tests, but for validation, you need external accurate measurements, with sensors that are way more precise than the onboard sensors. And to validate, you also need to have control of the experiments and tests that you perform, in other words, you need accuracy and repeatability. The FFT GYRO has a structure that covers the security needs, sensors that cover accuracy, and actuators that cover repeatability. I hope this can answer your question, best regards!

      We have cut down up to $2,900 for R&D market, but now we are working a version for hobbyists. Is not yet finished, but we hope that this cost less than $300.
