Just a wee footnote. The Gushetfaulds terminal was adapted for Freightliner and lasted into this century, the site is now home to the largest garage used by First Bus.
2:42 sorry, Breakfast Cooker?!
this was my great uncle, one of five brothers and two sisters, one of his sisters was my maternal grandmother, gladys. he used to visit sometimes. very reserved compared to the other brothers as i recall.
I remember when the promotional FAB1 visited Barnet Odeon in 1968, when ‘Thunderbird 6’ was released. ‘Lady Penelope’ signed copies of a newspaper to promote the film and other United Artists productions.
What a cool truck!!! Sooo far ahead of its years👍👍
Ahh, Tinsley. Sadly missed!!
I travelled on the 4DD many times, loved it.
I'm firmly of the opinion that while the extension of the platforms and the increase in trainlength was probably inevitable the setup itself just had a few more teething issues that needed to be worked out, if some of it's surprisingly similar counterparts (specifically the PRR MP70) here in the US are anything to go off of.
We need a hybrid of this and modern containers, smaller ones maybe, smaller trucks idk, just want a functional society back
I wish train of thought (another TH-cam channel) would make a video about these bizarre armour “Knight” GWR express locomotives. 🚂🛤️
''I hope the new diesel doesn't cause even more trouble, hes Bound to have Teething Troubles.''
Still waiting for British railways to be dragged kicking and screaming into the modern age…
When you need a new locomotive, love steam trains and obsess over planes.
“Oh my grease and oil,i did not expect this hill”
😅Can British railways ever build a desiel locomotive that has a life span of more than 10 years It appears these modern locomotives are just being made to keep the Scrappers torches hot
Wait Fab One is currently in my home town?
"Brought it for a staggering £75,000" ?
In Australia we have a similar one called the 4D
I had no idea this existed until I saw Geoff marshall mention it. I think it's a great idea - I live in the east midlands and took a camper van up to Scotland this year, and taking it up on the train overnight would have been awesome. But totally financially impractical nowadays; a car would take up the space of at least 10 seated passengers so imagine what they'd charge! Much Cheaper to pay someone to drive you I expect.
"Class firteen"
The Reva G-Wiz?
Awesome 👌
wait is this a reupload? I am very sure I already have seen this video.
I have a very vague recollection of seeing this vehicle at the Bingley Hall Girls and Boys exhibition in Birmingham. I was 8 or 9 which means it was 1968 or 1969. I remember being being somewhat impressed.
I am the first person to watch this
😀
"What were they thinking?", I hear you ask: It was the 1960s! There were a lot of drugs around, and LSD was popular, so it probably made sense at the time!
to be fare if it would effectively work you would just have a jet sky that could drive itself in and out if the water. As a idea I can see a use for them. For life guards around the beach/water front that could be useful.
Amphi-Scooter well I think it was more of a publicity stunt. You could probably only 'ride' it on a calm river and lets face it, what respectable Mod would want to get their Parker wet? Nothing wrong with trying though I say. 👍👍
If it would work reliable I could have seen a version for life guards at the beach/waterfront. If it would result in wat would be a jet ski that can launch it self.
Amphi-Scooter - What could possibly go wrong? I'd love to try one though.
Mixed into those scooters, were also mopeds! I have a feeling Jeremy knew nothing about this scooter, when they made that episode of TG.
Reading these posts takes me back as a kid in 🇦🇺 Australia , we also got the Thunderbirds. I enjoyed them that much that I had to buy the dvd collection and watch them over again . We were lucky to get a diecast of TB2 with a small TB4 in it . Sadly over the years and moving , they disappeared. Now much older and having a family , I was over the moon when now being into Scalextric slot cars , that they started manufacturing movie slot cars , FAB1 being one of them , with both Lady Penelope and Parker inside . Sadly it didnt come with torpedoes or harpoon as that would be a great idea when racing it 😮 , not that I ever would 👍. Anyway grabbed that real quick and it holds pride of possession with my other movie cars. I wasn't impressed with the newer version of the Thunderbirds as it came across a bit to Americanised (sorry guys) . Oh and nearly forgot , I do have the Thunderbird models of the boys . Didnt want to say dolls 😉
I’m so sorry - the speech impediment is driving me to distraction!
Hmm… wonder if someone would make a Thomas fan story regarding Sodor’s version of the Condor train. Maybe star BoCo to pull it.
10:55 i think i can spot little old Brum on that truck! bottom right of the trailer. would love to see you talk about Brum!
used to see these attached to class 117, 121 dmus on the western region out of paddington
Many of the replacement buses are double deckers.
I thought they were Thunderbirds, not Funderbirds
Memories! Only saw it once back in 1968 - we lived in Upton Road in Slough and it came past our home on a low-loader presumably on its way to Century 21 on the Slough Trading Estate (My Dad worked for Mars Limited). It is quite unbelievable that it wasn't immaculately preserved from its creation, wonderful it has been restored but sad it is not in the UK, its rightful home. One more reason the Americans are making a huge comback and we (in the UK and Australia) are going "down the gurgler" fast. no regard for our own (self) preservation, never mind preservation of our history......
Dude it's 2024. How are you uploading in 480p
The biggest mistake they made with the awful 2000s movie was that it was purely a kid's movie whereas the original series was a family series.
Ah.. I was expecting to hear Jay Leno's name there at the end... 😁
I have to admit that I did watch those show when they hit the airwaves in America. I eventually wound up working in the body shop business and have a lot of respect for what went into creating and restoring that behemoth! It was unique to say the least.
You forgot to add Space 1999 to Anderson's credits
If only all cars were like the Fougonetti. It would make the roads a nicer place for all of us.
That was the worst shot in the entire movie. That said, the writing both for Thunderbird 6 and Thunderbirds are Go was absolutely awful and truly a wasted opportunity. At the core was the fundamental mistake of thinking that Thunderbirds was anything more than a kid's fantasy series. Common sense dictates that a 'real Thunderbirds' would be massively impractical, not to mention overwhelmed by the sheer scale of real-world catastrophes.
it was called THUNDERBIRDS, NOT FUNDERBIRDS. And they were BROTHERS, NOT BROVERS. DISLIKED.
@@RobertWorrillow Well that's not FAB at all! 😪
2:23 The 2004 FAB 1 was based on a Ford Thunderbird and has the T-Bird logo above the front grille.
I remember seeing this car in Upminster when Lady P and Parker turned up in it to launch one of the first hole in the wall ATMs at the Nat West bank. Long time ago now.
❤❤❤❤❤i m good job 👍💝
Looks like a cheap rip off of Team America.
You do realize that this show came out in the 60s? Team America came out in 2004
