OAHU FOOD TOUR: Adela's Country Eatery - Yelp's Top 10 Places To Eat (Inside Story)
Adela's Country Eatery in Kāneʻohe, Oʻahu, Hawaii has been ranked in Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat in the U.S. for two years in a row:
2023: Ranked #5
2022: Ranked #7
The takeout-only restaurant is known for its sustainable, colorful noodles made with ʻulu (breadfruit), sweet potato, kalo (taro), moringa, and avocado. Some say the food is great and they can't wait to come back, while others say they were disappointed relative to the reviews.
Adela's Country Eatery also sells packaged noodles, made-to-order plate lunches, and desserts. Some say the noodles are the best, and others say the taro special is delicious even when substituted with ube noodles.
The restaurant is open 10:30 AM-8 PM, except Wednesday when it's open 10:30 AM-3:30 PM and it's closed on Sunday. You can call ahead to place an order, and they ask for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour since they make everything to order

So good! Best Katsu in Vegas or anywhere for that matter and I lived in Okinawa for six years!!!
Hi Lisa! Couldn't agree more! We'll be in Okinawa in a few weeks...do you recommend a good spot to eat there? We'll be right around the Naha / Urasoe area.
The picture in the thumb nail looks like a happy couple. Best wishes to both of you.

Funny thing. I live in Québec and I don't know many people who eat maple syrup more than once in a blue moon. I put it on salmon and chicken, as a sauce, or on my monthly pancakes, but otherwise, it's not part of our regular diet. Neither are poutines (it was a hangover cure after hours)...
@@TheJimprez I’m sure they’re smart and utilizing tourism to the max 😂
@@caryandaileen We have a CARTEL. They keep millions of liters in stock in a huge building (we had a big theft, like in a movie a few years back) and only put out enough on the market to keep prices UP!!! But yeah, with 80% of the world's, maple syrup, tourists and foreign importers are the biggest money intake from that harvest.. BUT, it's going to end soon. It's REALLY dependent on specific weather patterns, and the new climate is NOT Maple syrup-friendly.
@@TheJimprez I hope y'all keep it going somehow cause it's and unsettling to hear. Rooting for you guys always! Cheers!
Do you guys realize those are the testicals?
@@BEEis-COOL gonads, yes 😂
I used to work here. I remember when people complained of getting sick from the food. And the way the staff kept everything unsanitary. I believe the article in the news about 20 people getting severely sick after eating here. Look it up.

it’s called tire
it’s called tire
"Tire" in French means PULL (not a rubber wheel-top)... Or pulled sugar like for the Ste-Catherine toffee, you stretch it multiple times by pulling on it.. It's a kind of candy. PS: pronounced "Teer"
@@TheJimprezI’m aware buddy. I’m a born and raised Montréalais
@@differentbombs This was more for the follow on viewers, but nice to know... Just so some American would start joking about Maple toffee being some car part... Like that Hamburger Pain, turning into a kiddie joke whenever they read the French side...
@@TheJimprez fair enough
Sup guys, long time for the long vid. I go there when i get the crave. I found out that Moringa is beneficial for the body so i always choose it. As far as price, its reasonable for me. Ill eat half, because its a large amount. Comes out to 12~13 dollars a meal. 🤙

When did it get so expensive at the Cal!
nah if it ain from stlouis and made by the chinamen it ain stlouis style that ain even dark enough
@@t3zzo314 it’s from St. Louis made by a Chinese / Vietnamese guy who’s been making it since the 80’s
I get why they are pricy. They source their unique and envelope pushing noodle ingredients from local organic and local sustainable farms. Its time consuming and expensive to grow, harvest and cook with these ingredients from small farms and harvests. They are to Hawaii noodles like Alice Waters has been to California Organic Local Farm to Table movement on the mainland. It they set up shop in a fancy or even slightly fancy sit down restaurant space in Town, then they could conceivably ask for even more money. That market would definitely pay the higher price. But it is admirable that they keep it Local Casual, for the neighborhood of Kanoehe and the rest of the island. Their sides and meats are not fancy or even plated fancy, but they are delicious examples of local home cooking. Im not the only one that thinks Locals deserve to eat local, organic, delicious, healthier foods even if it cost $3 to $10 more per item or plate?
Thank you for this. Your words and thoughts are exactly why we wanted to share their deeper story. To show that they're about sustainability, independence, health, etc. Appreciate you.
I love Adela’s - one of the best “local” healthy plates. I really enjoyed the Lechon and Moringa pasta plate, the lechon had a nice, light crispy texture, beyond perfection , so Ono. The staff is super friendly and lots of Aloha. I can’t wait to return to try other dishes.
Cannot agree with you more. Aloha and mahalo.
there food is good but too damn expensive and i dont like that young filipino cashier, she is pushy and rude on the phone, so i wont give them service no more!!!!
Ahh really? Sorry to hear you had that experience. Thanks for commenting though.
They just a take corner, too over price
I get the price part, but what does the corner have anything to do with this?
Little overpriced

those glasses are amazing. I've been trying to buy one from them since I had their martini a while ago. website is sold out unfortunately
