AT tires are specifically made with tread grooves that expel rocks and debris that is why you hear lots of noise when driving on loose gravel and small rocks. You don’t want buildup in your tread as it will lose traction if tons of small rocks get lodged in your tires. Hearing those rocks flying is a good sign that means your tires are working the way they were designed.

I was skiing at Keystone from 01/21 - 01/24. 21st and 22nd were brutally cold and windy. I was doing 3 runs then going in to warm up. I had 4 core layers on but feet and hands were the problem. Frenchman is a fun run but can get so icy at the bottom before Montezuma lift. I prefer Paymaster run on that side. Try Keystone on a warmer day and get out to Bergman Bowl when you get a chance. Newly opened last year and nice blue runs for my old knees.

Yoo what’s what’s up 😂. How do you feel about their noise level on road/interstate? Are they loud or annoying or quiet? Also, some people say the tires sort of collect and hold on to little rocks and gravel and end up throwing them up onto the side of the truck? Do you hear it slinging rocks off and hitting the truck much? Let me know! I’ll need to upgrade my new Tacoma tries one day 😊

This spring/ summer I hope to practice my off-roading on those same trails, but on a Moto. I am particularly interested in going from St Mary's to Peak to Peak/ Rollinsville. When the snow is mostly gone, I will reach out to see if you are up for some light hearted off-roading! Keep doing the cool stuff!

I'd HIGHLY recommend some quality chains. The good ones go on by just wrapping around your tires- my best time for installing both is just over 4 minutes, so they aren't a big deal, but can save your arse when things get "spicy", either on purpose or surprises happen or the weather changes. I live in the edge of the Colorado mountains, on a steep road, and on my road have seen 3 vehicles on their roof, 1 on it's side, and 4 in the ditch.

I don't know if anything's changed, but there's a bunch of trails on OnX off road maps in the Pines, so maybe the law changed or something
