I always wear this jacket and I’m lonely
Alan Wake
He like me fr
I wore the Field Jacket, camouflage, in the U.S. Marines. I recently purchased a “vintage” M65 from the early 60s. It’s very cool. Signed, Lieutenant Colonel, United States Marine Corps (Retired)
first thing i thought was andrew garfield’s spider-man bc of that movie it was my mission as a 12 year old to have this jacket. lindsey weir in freaks and geeks too
Al Bundy wore one in at least one episode of MWC.
Literally my everyday jacket
Beautiful video essay. Keep up the good work.
1:45 the beginning explicitly states he is a marine
out of all 4 examples you talked about, only one of them is the m65. You didn't even research anything for this video.
Jesus dude that last words.
No mention of Horst Schimanski?
I have one of these jacket.
The symbol: of the broken men
Best jacket ever made honestly I have 3
Clarence also wore this jacket in True Romance.
The M-65 is just a retooled M-51 which was introduced in Korea. Many of the uniforms during the Vietnam War were actually leftover Korean War pieces.
The M-65 Field Jacket was NOT developed for service in Vietnam. It is an updated version of a jacket designed too be worn in cold weather, and has an optional liner.
It's a long road...
The reason it is the loneliest jacket is because you can lose everything but man you don't lose a good jacket.
Maybe loneliness is just the jacket you got along the way
Who misspelled "Vietnam"?? What in the world is "VIENAM"?? Someone needs to learn to spell!
When I was young, I pulled one out of my dad's closet to wear as a teen. I didn't feel it was about loneliness. It was about courage. This was after Vietnam, but before the first Gulf War. People made associations with that jacket. The ability to wear that jacket and not give a f^&k about what other people assumed or thought I was doing in it was, to me, an act of rebellion. It had my dad's name on it. I was daring them, double dog-daring them, to say some $&!t about that jacket. So maybe it was a bit about isolation and confrontation. But I didn't feel lonely in it. It was the only thing that didn't.
“Tet-chew-rrr”
Truth ...I have this jacket feel so comfortable
are you indian? dislike
I think the easy availability and relative inexpensiveness of the M65 Field Jacket has a LOT to do with how frequently it appears in movies.
1:44 he literally says in the movie he just got out of the military
I’ve still got mine from 81
John Rambo is more synonymous with the jacket.
The M65 in black is also Clarence Boddicker's jacket of choice in ROBOCOP, and is worn by both Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean in GOLDENEYE. It's worn by Forrest Whitaker in GHOST DOG too. SERPICO is noticeably absent from this list. In that film Pacino wears the jacket as a countercultural symbol. Other folks have mentioned the absence of FIRST BLOOD. Also M65s appear in THE TERMINATOR, THE KARATE KID (worn by Mr Miyagi), DEAD MAN'S SHOES (memorably, worn by Paddy Considine) and BLOODSPORT (Van Damme). Also worth noting is how much of a M65 fan Bin Laden seemed to be. As others have said, Pinkman's jacket isn't an M65 but an M51 (I believe).
I have one of those m65 fit the hood and i freaking love it
It is also an objectively good jacket.
i need that jacket so bad it's all i need in a most weather jacket plus i can use the lapel flaps to secure my breastplate straps
Travis is wearing a bomber jacket in about half of these clips
They were commonly worn by agnsty teens in the 80s.
I’ve worn this jacket since I was a teen. I love the style and utility of it.
shit I have a m65 😅
Hanzee dent from fargo season 2
el camino sucked and this does not look like a m65
Charlie
bro, this is an actually creative thing to talk about, nice topic, my favorite character with m65 its Jacob Singer from the movie jacobs ladder
In Rambo First Blood he wears it throughout the first quarter of the movie till he gets to the police station.
Oh damn I didn’t even realize this. I’m wearing that jacket right now. I wear it every day in fall and winter
I have one
Wow that was a great ending question. I have a protective talismen. Its a necklace with a charm on it that my mom gave me years ago.
Its just a jacket
You forgot John J. RAMBO
I have two. One made in Austria, the other in Gemany. The Austrian is one year older than me and is still in perfect condition.
I have a debagged North face USDA forest service jacket from the 80s-90s and looks similar to the ones in the video. when I work outside I do feel quite lonely since I just put on my earbuds and don't talk to anyone for half of my day going house to house that I regularly go to weekly. Majority of the times I don't see the homeowner since they'll zelle me the money or place my check in my SUV on my seat.
