fun fact: you can overlay this song w/ "smooth sailing" and it still sounds nice
Bring back August 10, 2020 memories
Back when the weather channel was great
A lot of the other Weather Channel music was by The Rippingtons

Weather Channel memories would always brings me here.
It's 2023, and I remember hearing this song while tuning into The Weather Channel in my college dorm room in Fall 2004 to Spring 2005... There is a TikTok page of "nostalgic" posts-- where one of the posts was of TWC and someone commented "Trammell Starks" being the music artist who produced much of the music...
Omg I literally would watch TWC for hours and hope that this song would play during Local On the 8’s. When it played it made my week! I CAN’T BELIEVE I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVED THIS SONG! I feel like I’ve found a family I’ve never met! Here’s to all of us!
If I recall..this was my theme song during "the storm of the century", in early March of 1993, senior year of high school
tonight mostly clear lows in the 60s tomorrow clear skies and 78 winds out the west at 15 mph
the weather channel jammin the jazz baby local on the 8s
Love this tune! The Weather Channel needs to bring this music back NOW!
I agree with you but i doubt it if they will bring this song back because they play that annoying boring production music now and hopefully WeatherNation or fox weather will play this music someday or hopefully someday a new weather channel will launch on cable providers that would be like the 1980s 1990s and Early 2000s where hopefully they would play this music on a new 24/7 weather channel someday.
at 1.5x speed it becomes a sonic world track
I growing up back in the middle 90's when the song came out.
This Where the Worldwide INTERNET WAS BORN and So was Microsoft Windows 95 created by Bill Gates
I was in Birmingham, Alabama we had Winter Storm '96 WAS playing Sega Genesis Eternal Champions.
This reminds me of Sonic Mania. Nice.
You're such a Father figure to me Dave Schwartz. The Old OCMs won't let you down man.
Best Song Ever! at 2:15
I would watch the Weather Channel just to hear this wonderful music back then, I searched for years to see who it was and finally found out, I bought all 3 CD's from Mr. Starks website, All of this old Weather channel music is Amazing , this is back when the Weather channel was at it's best!
*This song right here practically defined TWC Local Forecasts all thru the 90s, which I fell in love with and commonly refer to as "Weather Channel Music" Mr Trammell Starks made some of the most melodic music of our time! This was played very often and a favorite of mine!*
2:15 best part
Sounds like Infochammel music
1:00 Sounds like something from Sonic Adventure or Sega’s Dreamcast era
It gives me Sega Saturn vibes. I mean, this could be a track from Nights Into Dreams if I didn't know any better.
YES I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING! Like casinopolis or something
Beautiful !
Any idea what year?
1996
Today..... Heavy snow likely.. Gusty winds will create blizzard conditions. Bitterly cold with highs only 15-20. Snow accumulating 12-18 Inches. Significant blowing and drifting snow likely. Gusty E-NE winds at 20-30mph with gusts to 50 likely.
Today Strong thunderstorms likely. Storms may produce large hail and strong winds. High 81. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Tonight Scattered thunderstorms. Low 69. Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
I think you described what all of us feel when we hear this old Weather Channel music. I particularly like listening to my old local forecast playlist on Sunday nights, to combat those blues. Who knew it would be therapy for us when we grew up? The world was so big and wondrous, life was full of possibilities, and we couldn't wait to become adults.
BEST SONG EVER
This song = watching the Weather Channel late Friday and Saturday nights growing up in the early and mid 90s, excited just to be alive, and excited about weather.
Me too I remember this at the same time loved the weather and watching the weather channel back in the early and middle 90's especially in the fall and winter!
Right on!
man this comment just hit me in the feels
Absolutely. The graphics were simple and concise, and the meterologists were interesting to listen to without a lot of computer graphics. Nice memories!
OMG!!!!!!!!! I HAVE LITERALLY BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS SONG FOR OVER 20 YEARS!!!!!! IM TRYING TO BUY THIS ASAP. MY FAVORITE WEATHER CHANNEL SONG OF ALL TIMES!
You can buy this using this guide: twcclassics.com/articles/trammell-starks.html
The next one is the best one. Up tempo.
Same here, seems like this was the rarest song that would play on the weather channel.
Love this tune!
This was the song playing on my local forecast in Philadelphia during the blizzard of 96 We got 32 inches here
Johnny Bravo Yes, I was in Ocean County NJ then during that storm. We were constantly checking the Weather Channel for updates. This was playing and I thought it was awesome! This version is jazzier than the version on the Weather Channel though.
I remember that blizzard we got hammered in Wisconsin like I had to be in like 3rd or 4th grade but watched the weather channel everyday for hours
One of the best weather scan local selection tracks with jazzy sounds! Thanks, Trammell!!
It’s groovy, jazzy, and perfect. Love the tune. It’s got that urban downtown midnight groove. Just perfect.
I'm with you dude, Luffy is the fucking nuts. That Fair is so satisfying to land!
link ?
It's just not the same without the NTSC distortion.
look up Local Forecast Playback - Apr. 1996 in the TH-cam searchbar
thought this was an imposter, went on his stream, saw him, somehow took a stock lmao
THIS JAM IS BANGING.
Everybody go on Pharaohosam's dumb channel and go to discussion and start putting negative comments on it.
BarnardsLoop can you remove pharaohosam comment?
Report the guy who called me retarded
