Does it matter if you use artificial crawlers what do you prefer

Once bitten, do you let the fish take the bait or set the hook right away?

You have been on fire this past week(s) Lance. I do a few things differently, as do most, one I will finally reveal when I retire from tourneys, but one thing I will share is which beads and clevis type I use, started out with metal and would have 8 of each blade tied up (insane), tried the plastic quick change, but would occasionally lose a big blade. Bead wise, went with Mack's stack beads, two of those with a different color in the middle, good for #5 or 6 blades and then started using the Dutch Fork plastic sleeve, wire keeper quick change ones, pretty much a game changer for me. They also make a metal version for those slower speeds you mentioned, easiest place I have found the clevises is FishUSA.

Have you ever tried the little rubber, sinker stops, that bass guys use for punch rigs. Best bobber stop ever!!

I love my Traxtech system! I thought out & designed system to fit my boat and style of fishing. The dealer installed my tracks and had all my rod, cup, tool, planer board, & net holders ready for me when I picked up the boat. They just came out with a new rod cradle...may need a couple of those too. (Lol)

Thanks, Lance! One thing that I have come to really appreciate is the phone app, "Navionics". There, I can scout bodies of water in great detail. This also helps for planning and eliminating water. I can pre-mark points of interest, then on fishing day, drive out to the "mark" and verify. I love this tool! Another point that makes a lot of sense (which you covered) is recording what didn't work, and when weather changes enough while your on the water, it's time to reevaluate your tatics because its all new circumstances. Great points to keep in mind. Another thing that may help for catch records is taking a picture of the fish and bait in the net. Every time I watch these foundational videos, a new area of focus comes to light for me. Thank you.

Sometimes its fun calibrating reels, in anticipation of the next trip, and at other times, it's just a chore. I still remember the first time I calibrated a reel, per your suggestion, and how not close was close. LOL

I keep 3 or 4 rods rigged differently for springtime on Detroit River to achieve a faster to slower fall rate and let fish tell me what they want. Worm, paddle tail minnow, fork tail minnow, larger shad body minnow. Also fine tune with disc worms and worms with twister tails.

Scents work, especially in cold water. Comes in real handy in springtime on Detroit River. ProCure.
