Repairing Another PC-324 Lighting System
I ascend a 340' guyed tower and replace some parts inside a Flash Technologies PC-324 Xenon Lighting System. The climb was a textbook easy climb as well as the repair. After the first turn-on prior to the repair, I noticed something was not right in the way it was flashing and under further examination I found a wire in the white side of the light that leads to the red side to be corroded and not making a good connection; something I overlooked when I replaced the white tube. I forgot to turn the camera back on but what I did to fix it was just strip the wire back and add a new terminal, after that repair, the system worked flawlessly. And for all you naysayers from the last video, you will be pleased to know I brought all the tools I knew I would need.

Climbing a tower that is not meant to be climbed, and putting a new light on it!
มุมมอง 103K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
I climb my first-ever “monopine” and replace an Obsta LED beacon with a Drake one. This tower put me to the test and I have to say I enjoyed the challenge. This site is located in Madison Mississippi in a very nice neighborhood. And no, I am not paying for power director, ignore the watermark. If you actually watched the whole thing and read the description, thanks!
Cross Timbers Marker Install, Raw

Raw, uncut footage including ascending tower, rigging rope, flying markers, and part of installation of new LED markers in Cross Timbers Missouri, 1/4/24. First time using Power Director, don't mind the watermark.
Hi, greeting from Malaysia rigger.. i just want to say, i hate tree tower😂 enjoy dude, safe climb..
I heard years ago that they are putting these towers all over kid's playgrounds or next to schools. The looks like a tree touch is nice
In Panama, they had a 300 ft repel tower. We had to do two successful Aussie repels to graduate Jungle Expert school. (That is going frontward)
That must be one of them fake trees never seen one before we all do a heck of a job...
What's that tree doing there
I would have to climb that one so I could not see how hi I was in the air
what do you get paid to climb that tower?
Hates his job, hates his life, hmm that must suck. Not sure you hate these things. But you could change it around the way you want it. Im sorry that you have to do this job and you hate it you could get a job you like just by looking for what you would like. I drive a forklift around and i dont make a lot. But i enjoy what i do and enjoy my life as well. I wouldnt mind have an easyer job that pays more but i feel us men should work hard and shouldnt complain to much cause we have everything a lot of people dont.
Your just a simpleton
The fake pine tree is not the only green thing on that pole
At least you know your phone will have good reception up there! 😂
Esse cara , está na profissão errada 🤪
Then how do you service it??? If it wasn't meant to be climbed?? missing common cents....Of course it was meant to be serviced it built into the design...
Toss it!
One of the radio stations here in my town has the top bulb burned out. i don't know if they know it or not.
I could not do this kind of work. To scared. And now after my heart attack defiantly no way.
You would be in the Guiness book of world records for highest upper decker!!!
Making a tower appear 2 be a tree from the ground wonder why with the fake branches over 100 feet higher than t the surrounding tree canopy y ? ,actually I don't its camouflage hidden in plain sight nice climb though. Hope that tower of doom was not energized which I am sure it was and active when you did the replacement just a thought good people. The steel rope on the way up yep helps but on the way down saving grace and yes a rope 2 take the dud reflector back down I heard you. Decent even after all the climb and energy expended be easier than the assent most times and yes that was a bitch indeed thanks for sharing. 2 have 2 do that many safety tag points I noticed them would you take on that job again , I wouldn't again thanks for taking me along no free climbing which was and maybe still is in the industry ,wise man indeed.. I digress its been pointed out 2 me.
That is fucking stupid, looks like it presents more of a danger than need be.
PLEASE ALWAYS FOLLOW YOUR SAFETY PROTOCOLS! AND ALWAYS REMEMBER TO BRING ROPE! PEACE, Brother!
Imagine being tied off up there during a hurricane!🤔 (Yes i know thats never gonna happen, but wondering how the experience would be...)
In any case this job has its ups and downs!!!!
Shame you didn't actually get any video of the tower from the ground showing how high it was, or panorama from the top! A video of you climbing up the unclimbable?? tower which actually looks quite comfortable to climb given you seem to be quite safely inside all of the artificial tree branches! And you're permanently clipped onto the wire inertia line unlike free climbing other towers totally exposed! So not sure what's supposed to be so difficult about this particular climb!?
Are the branches to invite birds to crap all over it? Waste of money! But what ever that engineer was smoking I want some.
What’s most impressive is he did that while having to poop. I almost crapped my pants just watching
That tree, which was so many dozens of times taller than any tree in the meadow, was engineered to kill people like you and passing pilots. An arborist might have run that crown and all of your tool haul up and down a ridge-line on a pulley, and it might have been safer and less grueling. I guess it's not always easy to find a good enough ground-guy.
I like how the tower that isn't meant to be climbed has climbing bolts right there in a convenient arrangement for climbing.
If you'll look, on the fake limbs where two bolts are thru the rungs, you'll see they extend thru the climbing rungs and stick out about the or more inches. These present a climber with a real danger as their boots are moving upwards! Just one added danger!
@@randythomas3478 If something like that is going to trip you up then PLEASE get yo stupid ass off my God damn tower.
I'm sure he'd be happy to trade jobs with you! One keyboard jams incompetent comments at youtube videos without even watching the whole thing, and the other is out in the field keeping the infrastructure alive, the same infrastructure you use to post nasty comments for youtubers!
“Climbing a tower that’s not meant to be climbed.” There’s a ladder all the way to the top.
Are the antennas turned off while you’re up there?
Next time one of us old farts sitting around on our fat asses bitching about young people, as we tend to do, and complaining about their work ethic and whatever else... Imma show em this! You, my friend, are a STUD!
That would suck to drop a screw.
A Snickers bar is the thing I need.
He earned his money. Very tricky.
Dude your a risk. Not prepared. O proper tools. Leaving tools at the top with out securing them in a bag waiting to take a shit when you get to the top. Be careful man take your time do shit right
@@danielhildebrand6553 you’re* Also, if you wanna show me how it’s done, we’re hiring
However much you get paid it's not enough. That looks like a really tough gig.
I would have yelled heads up and dropped the darn thing
Bolt bags suck getting caught on stuff
What is the point of the branches?? To look like a tree and not a tower or does branches serve a purpose??
Didn't your man say black blue and white?
I've never seen anyone put that much faith in coach bolts before, especially holding the ends, have you seen how easy those things bend 🤣
More armchair tower experts in this video than there are towers.
Time stamp 25:09 😂😂😂😂
Okay, you have reached a point in your climb that is making the blood drain out of my limbs. Heights are not my bad and I respect you for being able to do this type of job. Pays good from what I understand but dangerous too. Stay safe!
When the North Sea oil boom was on, I had to clome a mast of an experimental catamaran tug to repair a radar that gave a very accurate range measurement for survey position fixing. The first time I ever climbed a height took ages to get up and froze and took ages to come down. It was a very calm North Sea at the time, like a duck pond, as flst as mirror, very spookey. At least it was clear of the stupid tree like branches. Rather you than me. Thank's for the video.
If it isn't meant to be climed , why are there foot pegs on it ??
Wow! My wife and I have been on the edge of our seats for the entire video! Quite an experience. Would liked to have seen a few more minutes of when you got to the ground. Perhaps next time. Great video, though.
look up "mustang wanted"
If it's not meant to be climbed, what's the static line and ladder rungs there for?
Did tower climbing a long time ago. This one is a stupid engineering, nightmare. The engineers need to climb this then they would never do another one. Hats off to you. It sucks when you forget a tool been there. Not fun.
tally ho on that lightits to heavy
cuts a hand full of wires.... on a cell tower........... "Good thing I'm super smart" really dude?
I bet your legs ached for a while after that
