Yes, and no. We do get exploited. However, there are things that a piece of paper stating you received an education cannot tell graduate programs about prospective students. This is why they have us take tests which help them determine our cognitive, intellectual, and common-sense abilities. This is also why they have us write essays during the application process to get a deeper insight into the workings of our minds. I'm an older student about to take the GRE and I can assure you, as someone who also has two children (one who is 9 and the other out of school), the education received today does not prepare students for 'the real world' the way it did 25 years ago. So, perhaps the issue isn't with the test itself but more so with the greedy corporations who took over the education industry causing the system to become a farce over the past couple of decades creating people who think that ',,,'/ is an equivalent to '...' and using punctuation too commonly and incorrectly throughout their writing. Why argue with learning new ways to think, reason, and understand unless you don't believe you have the capacity to do such?

The point of going to college and having to study to get into the field is what makes the determining factor. If you are able to complete your course work than you have already earned the priviledge. The test is useless and pointless and it doesn't determine anything. Someone who struggles on that test could be a genius in their field. And someone who passes it with flying colors could flunk out. One off topic test isn't going to determine anything besides making people pay an extra 200 dollars and put money in the pockets of companies like Princeton review. You can skip all the bullshit and give people IQ tests.. But its a farce.. Anyone who passed college is capable of passing the GRE if they study and buy all the study guides and practice tests.. and dishes out the 200 dollar fee. Memorizing big words that you will never use in life doesn't determine intelligence. Proper grammar doesn't determine intelligence.. Memorizing bullshit doesn't determine intelligence. But intelligence is required to understand that.

I literally think this is a sign from God. I told myself I was not going to take the test because honestly, I am not a good test taker and I want to study Human Rights and or Public Service. I am in the Peace Corp and I need every penny I have. 200 bucks is steep. Maybe I won't take the test lol.

That's why left wingers need to realize that education doesn't guarantee anything (most of them think college will get you anything you want). Success and things similar to achievement are related to statistics despite the individual volition. The self-serving bias is creeping all over California and many parts of United States, but the worst part about it is it defers a practical aspect of school. It's what drives scholarship essays and the like,... including GRE. And then you have these morons taking the GRE over and over again sticking to this self-serving bias until they get the or at least 320. I'm happy with my 309 score and will not take another standardized test again.
