That's the problem, but the leakers who actually got things right are saying $450. TBH if Nintendo can get it out at $350 I think it will sell amazingly. It would be the best handheld for the price alone

Right! Even people out of the loop understand when you stick a 2 on something it is the next in the series. This holds true for consoles, games, movies, books, etc.

I was being facetious ultimately, I very much doubt people will get confused. But when it looks the same, and you see it in advert maybe you wont realise unless you see the 2 bang in your face. From a front on view it will just look like a bigger switch. Honestly though that is a stretch, I think it will struggle more to sell to Parent who've not long bought a switch or ones who have multiple switches in the household.

You've been able to play elden ring portably for ages, All PC handhelds support it. you can sort of predict which ports will come to the Switch 2 by simply looking at what is Steam Deck verified.

I've had no issue with Steam verified games on mine ? The stuff you're talking about there is the trying to get other games to work. I will say though simplify will be a majour selling point. But paying a lot more for a game you might already own on Steam/ Xbox/ Playstation just for portability is questionable.

I do agree Nintendo's IP's will shift consoles. However they alone are not always enough. Wii U had access to all the IP's and did poorly. My argument is the Switch did well because of the Price point at release and When it released. It had no competition in the handheld market. With out the Third party support the Switch would have done badly. It lunched with so few games, The the Random Eshop finds and Third party ports gave it the breathing room till the Nintendo IP's dropped. All I'm saying is the third arty games now can also be played on other handhelds. At the price point the Switch 2 is leaked to launch at it's up there with those Handhelds. I think other than People like us who will get one day one, I dont think the Switch 2 will do as well as the Switch did. We would need to see some massive price drops. Again we dont know the games coming out yet, but if for the first year most the games run on Switch and Switch 2, All the Parents buying for there kids will see no incentive to upgrade especially if they have multiple switches in the household.

@@QTronics Fair statement, but these competitors are not well enough known yet; I haven't seen adds for them or know very few people that have picked one up. Steam deck is the only handheld I have seen some one have in the wild. Now that Nintendo isn't splitting their teams between home consoles and handheld all their focus can be on the new system. They've obviously seen the mistakes of a confusing name on the Wii U that most people thought was just a new controller for their existing Wii like the Wii Fit balance platform. They've given a number to their first console ever with the "Switch 2" to make it clear to the public that it's a new system. The hype of this release has been so huge the past year about when it's coming plus backwards compatibility of existing libraries confirmed that I think it's going to dominate the market.

That is a good point too, I guess I''m talking more on behalf of people like myself that also game on the PC and Checkout other handhelds. In all honestly I want Nintendo to smash it, I have 5 Switches. I love the switch for al it's faults. I just think the Switch 2 falls short in my eyes that's all. Will I get it on Day 1, you can bet I will. I do think the success balances on how it is perceived by normal people , households need to be able to buy multiple of these ( and the leaked price is well too high, espeically in the current financial climate). The Switch Lite is probably the best version, great price point too. Super portable. So again if nintendo come out with a variant like that in a couple years I think that will help.

I mean Steam has 132 million monthly active users, So you could argue each one of them has a potentially for a steam based machine, valve has just support Lenovo's Legion Go S directly with Steam OS, you can't tell me Value wont do the same for others? Steam OS is set to become open source too. Leading on from this, we have to assume every person logging into steam also has a PC/ library of games, that they could buy a PC handheld and just play them. not have to pay again, at an inflated price on the Eshop. Once the likes of EA and Activision sort out their anti cheat software on the Handhelds on linux that will be huge. Finally I agree not one company will take down Nintendo handheld market, but combined they might. Think How Apple dominated the phone market, only for 1000's of android devices to put up and take that share away. I think a similar thing could happen here. Especially in 3-4 years when the Switch 2 is the same spec but everything else has moved on around it. Remember right now at this point in time you can fully emulate a switch on all the PC handhelds. I will say however I do agree that, we're talking more about people like ourselves, not Parents of children. So maybe that's enough for Nintendo.

When they aren't canceling them. 🤷‍♂️ The other brands are struggling due to wokeness and the fact that they are trying to make games beyond their capabilities because the aaa tech ceiling is now too high and they work for years to optimize every texture. I stand by what I said. Nintendo has defended a similar market against sega, sony and others multiple times each. Switch 2 gets third party support due to the success of switch and has mario kart, smash bros, zelda and whatnot. Competition for the switch 2 has a steep hill to climb.

Even aforementioned aaa tech ceiling is a bigger threat to nintendo going forward than so-called competition. Sure, we're only talking ps4 quality visuals but that's more than they've worked with before. We'll have to see how this affects their output compared to the switch.

If they release it at $300 they will destroy the market. This console at the price point would be amazing. Nothing would come close for a while. And it would be cheaper than the current OLED.

I think they'll go for $350, but not higher. They probably would want to move everyone to their new console so that they can sell more software "games",since they know inevitably the Switch 2 won't sell as well as the og Switch. But who knows, it's all speculation.

@ $350 would be great, I think we have to judge the hardware against the market too. So Unless Nintendo got a good deal on the components, I assume they're going to have to up the price. Like you said, they will wont people to more over though, and buy multiple in the same household

@@345345asdasd the Switch had no competition at launch. There was no other handheld still being supported. The handheld market has changed, buying third party games on the switch is a hard sale now when most of them are on steam and a pc handheld.

I’d been avoiding the trailers and stuff on purpose. I can’t believe they are not going to be giving the performance with the beta. The game will be out 20 days after that. Also world Came out after the Switch, and before it MH was a niche game. Capcom would be silly to avoid the switch 2. It was also mental to not have rise on PC and consoles on day 1 too. I understand though, that was probably because that was the portable team working on it.

@@QTronics i think speaks on the comitment of the team to focus on the game optimization, given the bad publicity that dd2 gave the re engine. so no proper demo is annoying but i prefer the team to focus on the final product

As I want Wilds to do as well as World did, because this will guarantee Capcom continue to bring these games to the west.

TBH We will get the game you mentioned above anyways. Rise was basically that. Took parts of World and did what it could on the switch. The fact it sold quite well on PC and other consoles too Means we'll probably get the new Portable game coming to those much sooner. Monster Hunter Wilds Portable G (HAHA)

@@DinlasUltima there is normally two teams, one portable and one Main console. So I assume they will stay like that. It’s why rise and world fee quite different. The rise devs did take inspiration but it was a different team.

Not Sure If you fully watched the video. But I think it will be coming. The Beta was an unoptimised mess ( even on my 3080TI) and it still managed to run just about on the Steam Deck. Being compared to a PS4 pro, graphically, at the end of the day we have no Idea how optimised this console will be. As you Said it has a Nvidia Chip so we will be getting DLSS, Which makes a massive difference. We don't know how old the chip is though So Probably DLSS 2 Again will still be a massive leap. But FG has it's own issues, In a game Were Latency is important, it will be interesting to see. As I said in the Video, I genuinely think it will be coming, Capcom would be stupid not to, Wilds is on track to be there biggest game yet. Beating it predecessor World. So for them to miss out on a potential massive market is crazy. Portable Monster Hunter is a huge part of my childhood, from PSP to 3DS I dont care if it only plays at 720p on the switch 2 and Steam Deck.

@@ausator164 from the ps5 footagee shown recently, everyone is getting wattered down version. Blury texture that look like mud, droping into 40-50s often in combat. The game runs horribly, it's impressive actually.

@ausator164 I do actually agree with @DaveTheeMan-wj2nk . I played the Beta on my PC and it was a right mess. on the 7th of February though we get beta round 2. So this will be interesting to see. As really this should basically be the finished product. Seeing as it's only 20 days from release

A game dev was actually going over the graphics capability for the new switch 2 and said that the specs are actually showing better graphics capability. Do I know if it's good enough to support MH wilds no but it is a possibility.

nintendo switch wouldn't be as good as of now if it weren't for capcom and mh devs they want the game mh rise to run on it and imagine why theres 12gb ram instead of 8gb and capcom requested some specs capabilities to run mh world and wild lol

@SeddyAm Nintendo could if they wanted to make a console with really great graphics capability but they focus on games geared more for children and want parents to be able to afford their consoles for their children. Nintendo has their reasons for not competing with Sony and Microsoft but people pretend like Nintendo couldn't compete or even destroy other consoles if they wanted to. Not only are they more focused on games geared towards children but also people that like to play games on the go or people that just don't have the money to buy top tier gaming consoles. Nintendo doesn't deserve hate though because they saved video games in the first place.

Remember This game is coming to the Xbox Series S, if they can optimise it for that console at 1440p. They can most certainly target the Switch 2 at 720-1080p

I guess I'm talking about people like us, who are tech savy and watch videos like this. It's more of a hard sell than it used to be. Also your point will also stand with the Switch 2, they look so similar that maybe people will think the Swich 2 is just a variant like the OLED. Either way, You raised a valid point. @blueboytube Nintendo Home consoles are always relative to the current gen of consoles. The Switch Released at £300/$300 back in 2017. The Switch OLED now is $349. Nintendo Also very rarely drop prices, and their IP games stay expensive. You only have to look at comparative PC Handhelds and the supposed Spec to see roughly the cost. Nintendo never sell their consoles at a lose. Like Sony and Microsoft do.

$ or £? I originally had it in my head at £400/$400 and even then I thought that was expensive. But when the Switch OLED still sells for $350/£320, I wont be surprised at £450/$450

Honestly, they might. they did release that charger for them recently. And if they can sell the adapter at a premium why not. Let's not forget they make Snes, Mega Drive, Nes and N64 controllers for the switch. The NES ones clip into the rales of the Switch. Maybe Nintendo would be cheeky enough to release Switch IR Joycons for the Switch 2? I guess it all depends on which version of the Switch they keep selling when the Switch 2 goes live. If they only keep the Lite going then, yeah they will slowly stop selling the old joycons all together. And then we have the other problem of them getting expensive, seeing as they are prone to breaking.
