Thanks for vid. I found you when starting a search for a ratrod project that i could use my '04 GMC drivetrain/chassis in. My sierra is a great runner but rotting out on top. Wondering if I could match them up with an Apache, Viking or Duramax.

Mind sharing details on the radio? I want CarPlay but don’t want to cut the dash in my 71.
Check out joying head units. On the ones where the face pops off and has a ribbon cable you could make something to mount the unit behind the dash and the face on the front. The run the ribbon cable through the stock hole

Was the truck a 1500 or a 2500 ? I’m doing the duramax swap on my 1500 Avalanche. Trying to figure out the motor mounts
It was a 2500 with a Duramax. I also did my Yukon XL 1500, but I just put it on a 2500 frame. If you're wanting to keep your 1500 frame, I know it's been done, but I haven't done it. The frame mounts for a 6.0 and Duramax are different in the 2500s. If the gas engine frame mounts are the same for 1500s and 2500s, you should be able to get a pair for a Duramax from a 2500HD.
