Using a shou sugi ban type technique to burn salvage pine tabletops for durability, water resistance, and looks, done with propane and a high volume torch.
Clever!
Thanks!
Nicely done! Simple and easy to replicate!

Could you share a link to the router bit you used? I want to do almost this exact same thing with the same depth

Did you use a 3" straight router bit? I've been struggling to find a long enough router bit for a 3" deep mortice.
I used a 4 3/8" total length router bit.
Thanks for a clearly explained way of cutting a mortise when you do not have the right size cutter.
You're welcome! I'm glad it was clear to you.
Thanks for the video! How'd it turn out after using it?
I've really enjoyed using it. I think it's pretty well designed. I can't cut square enough for miter box joints over 12" cuts b/c of play when arms are extended, but can any chop saw? It's good enough for most other square cuts. The depth stop could be better designed to accommodate higher stops. Overall a very good saw and takes up minimal space, crucial in my case.
Todd Levins Concepts thanks! Mine is on the way.
@@completeopposite I'm loving it. I think I'm going to customize the depth stop though.
Why...
His mother built a nest in my house and chewed through some wiring. I actually discovered him and his sister when I found the damaged wires. I raised both of them from a few days old until 6 weeks when they started venturing out on their own. This guy loved to climb up my shorts
Please tell me you don't work in the shop barefoot!?!
I could tell you I don't but it'd be a lie.
@03:15 what sorcery is this?! You make a few test cuts and the entire shoulder is revealed without cutting the long part?! What?!
