Why did Ryobi build this to where you need rails? That’s just another way of stealing money from people. Now if you want to save money, you have to build the rails instead of just buying the hooks. This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

Those holes are meant for locking the shelves… the top rails and holes are for the wall.

Studs are normally 16 inches apart. The screws she put in would have gone straight to drywall instead of the stud due to improper placement. Becareful
