Taking notes in college (engineering) did not help me learn. It was wasting a lot of time in class, and it did not improve my grades during my time at university. I do think the other way around - I do pack different things when I go to different places in the US. I don`t have the same pack for the Keys as I have for Vegas or even Boston. When I visit friends in Santa Fe, I have really different things then when I meet up with other friends in Athens, Greece. You learn as you go along....but when in India, buy your cotton clothes on site. Happy travels 😎

    I have to disagree about not taking a notebook. The value of the notebook is the real-time, unedited thoughts, doodles, sketches, and small details that get lost over time in digital form. Just take a soft-cover A6 notebook from RHODIA (144 pages)or another brand. You will value it in 10+ years when your view of the world and circumstances change, it may mean you are unable to travel or you need to do a different type of travel due to kids or a partner.

    I always say make a list of 2 that you definitely want to see and have a backup list if you have time,no pressure. Aah France, they go on strike at the drop of the hat (not like us english who plan it 2 weeks ahead) and protests, the French are great at a protest (even applies to Quebec over here in Canada).

    • @AlexShiller
      @AlexShiller 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's a good way to see things on your trip and not be stressed about it! And yeah the strikes can really make you think on your feet, but I guess that's part of the fun when traveling.

    You could drop a lot of weight by using merino, you can go weeks wearing the same t shirt and it shouldn’t smell.

    Nobody understands about ounces or Fahrenheit, just Amish. I would include in any of your videos the corresponding Centigrade, Kgs, litres… I would add an easy iron button down shirt (merino or seersucker), a long sleeve t-shirt and a merino wool pullover. Just keep some of your t-shirts at home. A dry bag to keep your dirty clothes and do the laundry. For the rest 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊 Solltest du nicht Schiller genannt werden anstatt Shiller?

    • @AlexShiller
      @AlexShiller 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oh yes I can do that in the future, thanks for pointing that out! Those shirts are also great to have. The button down would be perfect for a nice dinner out! I think there are 2 spellings.

    It's really refreshing to see (and hear) such practical advice with sound reasoning. No need for super expensive gear, just whatever suits you. I also think that what you're recommending would work for travel anywhere in the world, with small modifications to suit particular seasons.
