Use the grommet on the other side of the tire carrier, that way you don't have to cut the brake light grommet plus it's less distance to the front of the Jeep.

How does this Sony system compared to the kicker upgrade system? does one of better high-end versus low end? I have a 2017 JKU with base audio.

If you're running the wire to the cigarette socket, then route the wire on the passenger side. Try to always minimize wires running across the driver's side. Additionally, Skip power tools when installing in the dash area.

So once you install the mic on top of the steering column, you can never remove the dash again? Guess you have to make sure you install everything you need before mounting the mic. You won't be able to add a backup camera next year.

Also, do you recommend at least even a tiny sheet of polyfill in the speaker enclosures?

Why do you have to remove the soundbar? can you install these speakers leaving the Soundbar intact?

Great Video. I'm scared to do the trim out though. That is the only thing holding me back from dropping the cash on having it installed by a shop.

Will any cutting or shaving of the console or metal bracket (behind the factory radio) need to be done for a 2008 JK? I can pop off the console and feed a wire, but I don't have confidence to do body modifications. I'm hoping that this will be truly plug and play.

The carmín driver app is absolute trash. It never connects and when it does it is very slow and it never seems to remember my car.

Every thing works great! But I think there is a software glitch on mine. No sound from Siri, no beep from the screen, and I can’t hear anyone when they call…

Nice video. We use the DC Mini 2 in our two JLUs. We chased our wires in a similar manner, but on the 24, we installed an additional 12 volt outlet in the passenger kick panel using the 12 volt lead included with the Aux switches.

That kicker fuse holder should have holes to run zip ties through to secure it and not use the power wire as a tie point to hold it.

I ordered the Sony 9000ES. I am super satisfied. These instructions are very well executed. Do not be afaid to do yourself. I did run into a couple of challenges. For some reason I had a clearance issue with the fitment and the horizontal plastic at the top of the opening for the stereo. Additionally, removed the metal tabs at the rear. They seemed to block insertin the stereo fully. I am sure I was doing something wrong but I am a caveman at busted out the Dremel to shave about a 1/8 off the horizontal plastic bar. That solved the fitment issue at he front. Additionally I deleted the two metal tabs at the rear. Problem solved.

Would these not fit in a 2012 wrangler?

I have that unit in my 2017 Tacoma, I love it except for the fact that when you wear polarized sunglasses, the screen is harder to see.
