The importance of quantum research for the U.S. Navy - Part 3
The importance of quantum research for the 21st century U.S. Navy
Quantum Navy. Part 3: Forging a New Frontier
The U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), with the help of Defense Media Activity, is launching a three-part series highlighting the importance of quantum research for the 21st century U.S. Navy.
“Quantum Navy” will introduce viewers to the history of quantum, highlights NRL’s key role in the nation’s quantum initiative, and previews the future of quantum and what it means for the Navy.
Quantum information science offers vast technological improvements in computing, sensing, and communication, areas of high interest for the Navy. The series features NRL leadership describing researchers’ quest for dividends in these areas. Possibilities include solving computer problems in minutes that otherwise could take a lifetime, saving the lives of Sailors with more precise locations, or more secure, virtually unhackable communications for our naval forces.
In 2020, NRL was designated as the U.S. Navy’s Quantum Information Research Center. This designation allows NRL to engage with public and private sector organizations to enhance and accelerate research, development, and deployment of quantum information sciences and QIS-enabled technologies and systems.

I never served (serious health conditions) but I am quite happy to be a neighbor of Hill, lol
What in the Sam Hill is goin on...??
I see the word it's says Noli me tangere the novels of Jose rizal
As an aircraft security specialist SP in 1973 I never saw or heard about any buffs stationed at Hill. If they were stationed there during my time at Hill Our squadron would have been assigned to provide security for them.
I was stationed at Hill from 1973/1975, my job was aircraft security for the KC 135’s stationed there as a SAC satellite.
HOW CAN I BE A LOAD MASTER I REALLY WANT THIS JOB
I fell asleep just waiting for them to go in-service. Obviously not real cops, having to check out gear every single day. Guess nothing happens off-duty 🤷♂️
Lol. Cant live without your little pew pew huh? Gotta make sure you have your equalizer right?
I think they do some good service. Can you get out there and do that?
Not real cops, you say? Sure...... Just watch your step on an army base.
@@bobanderson6656 since they’re not equipped during off-duty times, not much will happen
They're still law enforcement. They can even carry a concealed handgun nationwide off duty. Look it up.
I was a PR in the Navy . pack the chutes for F14 ,F4 , A 4 , F8 E 2 and some F 5 that Top Gun had at Miramar . My favorite was the one in the A4 . cartridge actuated rip cord and ballistic spreader gun with the stabilizer drogue zero zero capable .
MPs, the most hated mos in the military
I think it's safe to say the mps don't care if they are hated
I was a MP in 1972 and the most hated person was a black MP
@@dianastewart2850 Seesh! Not doubting you. Still shocks me.
They work 12 hour shifts and 6 days a week they hate their jobs
@@dianastewart2850that’s makes me wanna do it even more 😂
Did AirAssault with some MPs..had a wild bunch of Grunts..in my unit..MPs..saved a few..
Dad was stationed there from 1980 to 84. He arrived as a Huey pilot with ARRS but transitioned to F-16s shortly after. I went to elementary school in Ogden. During that time I got to watch F-105s take off before they were retired.
Like…yeah bro!
How does a "gay" beret pulled down over your right eye help with peripheral vision?
Believe it or not it doesnt obstruct vision at all, I was in JROTC and did "Security" for our HIgh School Football Games and it was a Decent Amount of Fun tbh but the berets were the same way for us but no vision was obstructed.
No reason for lights and siren on an alarm call.
Plenty reasons to run code 3,the alarm could be for an arms room,a domestic in progress,or a top secret building
Arms room makes no difference, when was the last time a burglar alarm on post was a burglary? Answer - way less than off post which isn’t super common. A domestic is not an alarm. Ive been both military and civilian police. Outside of some top secret facility protocol, it’s unnecessary
@@KCS704 it’s very necessary, last night some idiot blue suitor dropped the arms room key at some random location,if some soldier really hated the world they could’ve used the key and loaded up some m4 mags and go to town
I will clarify- if the alarm is a panic or hold up alarm, that would necessitate lights and sirens- even then, it being a real incident is super rare, but that is the only time lights a sirens for an alarm - outside a classified facility would be warranted
And if its not an arms room or classified location? ……
Well make sure your boss isn't Kyle Brooks because he will be the reason why retention is bad

Mmm, these present day ‘state side’ MPs have better all-around equipment, than we 95B’s had in Vietnam.
Man. Even the training is way better than ours. I’m a Cold War 95B.
The equipment now is professional. I served in the MPs in the 70s. We drove junk. The kids now even have Kevlar. The MP Corps have come along way in 50 years.
@@kevinray5636 I just hope they appreciate the upgrades!
In Viet Nam, I was a Sentry Dog Handler. Stateside, regular MP--I drove a Jeep!

I was stationed at Hill from 2003-08 in the 75 Civil Engineer Squadron. It was a great assignment.
I live like right next to hill afb
I was a loadmaster on several Navy aircraft prior to computers, iPads, cell phones and the like. It was super challenging at times.
impressive! still, outdoor ceremony is better

Do you need to take a lie detector test for this mos? My recruiter said something with intel jobs requiring it. Obviously this isn’t an intel job, but does it require it? Heard those can give faulty results.

There is no climate crisis.
This was very interesting and necessary information until the climate propaganda started. With no discussion of weather modification technology in warfare. Too bad.
I’m pretty sure that Americans shouldn’t be talking about the state of democracy anywhere else than the crumbling American democracy!I bet you that those countries combined have less deaths due to guns like the American #’s!
