the taufakaniua dance is from one of the tongan islands called niua. taufakaniua means to fight in the niua style. this dance was performed by soldiers so with the sticks they are a symbol of guns used. and moves in the dance are things they did in the fight such as hoka the first move. they use to put knives at the end of the gun when they ran out of bullets and stabbed the enemies with the guns used as spears. . .but now days they change it up abit to entertain both old and young crowds.
