Today I’m sitting down to talk to you about what’s been going on with me recently, the wedding I shot, the trip I went on and how giving myself time away from my life has allowed me to really think and remember the reason I’m doing what I want to do and the direction I genuinely want to take my life. I will talk more in future videos about this feeling of untangling the knot that is over the to...

Today I wanted to talk with you about what this series actually is. I’ll be taking you with me today throughout my day and discussing exactly what this means to mean and what I would love to see with the future of this. Todays episode (I'm indeed aware I spelt it wrong in the video...) takes place on the 3rd of July, and I was focusing on getting back on the horse of life and getting my act tog...

Today we are heading to Bath, it’s an amazing city that feels homely and similar to the town I grew up in, just without that feeling a typical city gives off. It was my girlfriend's birthday, so we went out to spend the weekend there, in the city she loves. I used this time to disconnect from my work, and really think about what it is that I want for my future Series - The Rebuild Episode 1 - A...

You not wrong u call them to they say to the same things to me. the open university tall me when apply for students finance for full time but am doing part time on started on February and the other on is October is confusing you know and they don't send letter for confirmation you registration am going to study psychology . Am single parents but am not work at the moment so i got time to study .you think is best to do part time or full time please.thank you that is very helpful
If you can afford to do full time and you think you'll have the time available for 3 years then I would say full time but it its the opposite unseen part time
Hey man I was wondering because I'm considering applying but I'm wondering like is this degree we are gonna get recognized world wide? Or at least in the EU? And also like how are the classes exactly? Do you open your camera and stuff? And also thank you for the video it did help me a lot!
yeah it’s recognised globally. It’s fully accredited and is meant to be at the same level as a normal university! class wise, there isn’t exactly many “classes” in the traditional sense. 98% of the time you’ll be reading threw a book and then using the website while you’re taking notes. The calls that you’ll do will normally be more connected to the essays you have to write or tests you’ll end up taking. You won’t need to put your camera on, or even speak. It’s weirdly enough kinda like a twitch chat, they would at least like you to type and chat, asking questions and just answering there’s.
I am sorry that the ghosts of tushima video didn't work out the way you expected mate... If I had any kind of honest feedback is that I looked at it, and then saw it was a 2 hour video and just felt overwhelmed by it, which in turn meant I didn't watch all of it. I want to say that's the same for most people, a lot of people have full time jobs, families to look after and like me, have very little time on their hands, so a 2 hour commitment is hard for a movie, let alone a TH-cam video. I think the sweet spot is like 15-20 minutes for me personally, but occasionally I will watch a 30 minute video if it keeps me captured. On the other hand I bet there are a lot of fans that will find and appreciate the treasure trove that is your video. I hope this feedback helps, and I love the idea of just working on things that you're passionate about.
See while I agree and what not, one of my most successful videos is 3 hours plus and the most successful one is an hour. I don't think on youtube it's that people get overwhelmed, it's more of it hitting the right audience. Personally I don't like watching videos that are short when it comes to games, so I don't really look to make those. Also no need to apologise for a video underperforming, we'll see how it goes in the future, the RDR2 video took 8 months to start getting any views haha.
@@AdamFrost I agree about waiting it out, it might be a slow burn at first. Just because it didn't perform as you hoped, doesn't mean it negates the effort and excitement you had along the way, that was all still real and it happened. It's definitely the journey and not the destination. Keep persevering dude!!
Never touched a music instrument in my life, and don't even know how to read it, i am 34 years old waiter and i am a failure of a person, my salvation is become master in one of the instruments i love, like that if i get to 50 and still am a waiter on minimum wage at least i can play the blues
I appreciate your vulnerability. God bless friend ❤
Thanks for this video. 😊 What is the book you're reading ? (21:35)
feel good productivity by Ali Abdaal, Currently my rotation is that and fairy tale by Stephen King
@@AdamFrost Thanks 😊
You have improved so much in the quality of your videos since you first started this channel! And continuing and improving your way of life to the best of your abilities. So proud of you xx
Fundamentally keeping it real. Thanks for the TED talk Adam! Great to have some grounded perspective out here on the messy web in a cozy approachable format.
Thank you for making this, I understand that overwhelming feeling of having too many things on the mind and just feeling numb and sad after thinking about them all and what to do. Keep making great art! You’re helping us way more than you know! 💚
Listened to this while working, it’s quite relaxing to listen to in the background. Love hearing the personal development journey. Have a great week mate 👍
Relaxing listen while I have my morning coffee and start work on editing a video. Good morning from the Pacific Northwest, USA!
very nice! I'll need to know about the video when it's out!
Love your content! These videos feel like a cozy chat with a friend with a mug of tea haha. Keep it up!
thank you! Next video's been filmed and will be out some time soon!
Also I like Tom Hollands podcast and I will add that book to my reading list
You have grown so much as a person, I’m so proud Adam! :)
Enjoyed the video my friend! I think doing this sort of personal vlog type video is really cool, it's almost like journaling, it's therapeutic and good for the soul! It's a way to get some feedback from viewers while also doing self reflection. You're young, you've got a lot of time to work on life, keep it up and keep doing what YOU love to do, what makes you happy. Looking forward to the next Exiled video if/when you make another one! Cheers from Washington State, PNW, USA!
Thank you! Hope you had a good and productive photo editing session! Indeed, I'm using this in a way to just express how I feel about different things as I find it easy to talk to a camera and typically easier to vent to the void of the interent than to other people. I'll be releasing the next Exiled video at some point soon, Been recorded just need to work on editing it!
oh how i wish i had as big of a dream like the one you have 🥹 i have no idea what i'd like to pursue or go towards, i just turned 25 and i'd like to get things figured out atleast in some level 😭
Don't feel to bad about it, I can tell you that I don't know what I want to do, I just know right now what I don't want to do. I have a rough idea of what I could do but that doesn't really focus to much on this idea of what I actually want to be doing with life. From what I've heard from most people who are far older than both of us is that they still don't know what they're doing, seems to be a fairly normal thing, Best things we can do is focus on what we have at our disposal and try and live a life close to the version we want to live.
wow, that sentence hit me, "i just know what i DON'T want to do" really gave me something to think about, thank you 😄😊
Nice way to recollect your past. I will turn 21 in around 2 weeks, this year was a quite stressful as I completed 3rd year of my university CS degree. Didn't do much extras this year as I had to work on finding an internship, improving skills for finding job etc (especially in this market with all the layoffs in tech). Managed to land an internship which I am about to complete (May get a return offer). Still working on improving my skills to find that sweet dream job. I started following you some time back because of your video game essays. It feels really odd, slowly transitioning to this adult life.
Thank you! Glad to hear you found your internship, hopefully you'll get the return offer. I have some friends who've told me that it's really important to do so thats great you've done it! Indeed, slowly transitioning into Adult life feels odd as we don't know what we should be be doing specifically.
Wild Pidgeot! Mugs! Vibes! Good stuff. It's always interesting to see your surroundings out and about. A bit foreign, yet very familiar compared to my situation on the other side of Europe. Had the same with a French horror movie set at the countryside a couple years back. Not quite Hungary but compared to US / Japanese media I consume most of the time it has a nice feeling of extended home with Europe as a whole. Books sound interesting... Atomic Habits is on my backlog for a while now. Here is a weird fluff of mine: I prefer to refer to them as rituals or protocols instead of habits. Gives that nerdy umpf to the whole thing. "little... not little" That was just adorable AF. Using the word to refer to cozy vibes but contradicting the literal meaning. Absolute moment :D
Yeah, Bath is very unique for the UK as it's the only city that is built the way it is due to the Roman history side of it but yeah It's what I loved about going to places like Barcelona and Budapest as the cities look amazing and are really nice places. I don't know if it's that we just don't like to have a label on it that doesn't have some form of action around it, there could be something to that!
Subbed. Had fun hanging out and the lesson was 🤌🏼
thank you good sir!
awesome got a new sub g don't give up ;)
thanks for the video Adam 😁😁
Actively multithreadding viddeo successfully achieved! Round1: title just gave that walk vibe, so I went on a stroll, and literally touched grass at part in early sunset... smiling like an idiot in the park not caring about the bypassers. Round2: before commenting past some chores had to do a 1.75x speedrun to catch my thoughts again... and damn, you really have a cozy scenery around there. Careful with the water! ^^ And here is how I personally like to shatter the "journey over destination" stuff, which aside from cliché is also pretty copium and you explained nicely where that casual usage of it leads. Examine the destination part more closely, separate it into inner and outside destination... and instead of the lofty external goals of the ratrace, focus on the inner destination. But here is the kicker, that's a never ending battle, an ideal never to be truly reached, sometimes progress hard to maintain, but all the more worthwhile. Enjoying the journey for it's own sake is mostly cope and drifting with a smile, but enjoying the journey in service to the inner journey/destination... as it's hardly separable if you really take it seriously is a real adventure. Discovering and acting in accordance with both your own and the world's nature. And after some roughly stoics derived word salad, I'm gonna hit you with manga cringe too: " THE BLADE IS ME " Chapter 542 of Bleach and the most important lesson in the story. Pretty badass IMO as is, but it's an urban fantasy story, where the main faction, soul reapers have special swords that are essentially a part if their soul and thus each have unique abilities and a soul reapers relationship with their sword and thus understanding an aspect of their own personality and therefore facilitating character development is a pretty neat ide IMO.
Indeed. the scenery is really nice around here. this is the average british country side for you! tbf I have so many friends who relate strongly to manga and anime so it's never cringe!
I've read a manga called 'vagabond' which is directed towards young adults. Its about a samurai called miyamoto musashi and if your interested in philosophical ideologies and perspectives on ones life and goals id highly recommend it. A quote within this masterpiece, 'Preoccupied with a single leaf you wont see the tree. Preoccupied with a single tree, you'll miss the entire forest'. over 350 chapters. i dont find this stuff 'cringy' since its all about improving life with perspective and happiness.
Love these videos. they give me a refreshing perspective on life. I do need to leave the goon cave sometime haha. It's been 2 weeks yikes.
indeed, time can fly without realising it when we are inside all the time. I recorded this on the Saturday and that was the first time out the house properly. I forget the exact thing but an idea of life is that if you do the same thing over and over your brain will just lump it all into one memory unless something big happens. So if you drive the same route to work each day then instead of 100x that memory it's all compiled into one. That's what happens but with every part of life when we are locking ourselves inside the goon cave.
keep pushing and keep growing. You are not competing with everyone, you are competing with oneself. when planting a seed, you need to nurture it and care for it and years down the road will turn into a beautiful flower. Time is key
Not applicable just for self improvement but generally for life I think. Especially with how everything is so instant nowadays.
indeed
Great quality video for a smaller channel! Looking forward to more
Taking small steps helps a lot when try to self improve or working towards achieving your goals.
Reach for more of what brings you peace! More power to you!
Some things that have helped me - 15k steps a day, resistance training, calories in less that calories out (track it for a few weeks). The physical and the mental seem really linked, for me at least, the more I started to move my body the better I felt in my mind as well. Outdoor activities sound great too! Best of luck
Would love to get 15k steps a day but that's a good 6 hours of walking around for me based of normal walks I'm doing. Which would be fine if I was working my old job as I would easily hit that in teh shift but now that I work from home that's practically impossible without making everything else in my life a sub prioirty. Right now I'm aiming to hit around 5-8k a day as I'm normally getting far bellow that.
Thank you for this. I've also had my latest realisation just this week that I've neglected my physical health for way too long and it's time to do something about it. My baby steps are getting to walk outside more and Pokemon Go has been my way of doing that for now. That's just a stepping stone to getting back into working out since I already bought all of my equipment over the last 3 years. I just need to start. And starting is the hardest thing to do. I was in a groove this time last year, was on a 3 month streak working out and seeing results - then I got sick for nearly a month and after trying to work out when I was just about ready to get back in - I couldn't handle it and it killed my momentum completely. I couldn't recover until this week came.
That's a big issue and can relate to this myself. I found that building up slowly is the best possible thing. Personally when I was at the peak of my physical health it was right after being ill, in and out of hospital and it took around 2 months to get back to anything remotely similar to before I was ill. At that point what helped a lot was I got massively into running and enjoyed the challenge, was focusing on doing a lot of reading and then working out regularly but it was almost always with friends. For the majority of people building up is going to be the best possible thing you can do. Momentum is better than motivation however motivation is a great tool to get going. I find that watching a movie or documentary or listening to the right music before going and doing something is the best sort of motivation as it pumps you up and you'll feel like you can take on anything.
You and I are in similar situations. -Fighting mental health mainly anxiety and depression -Making videos about games -Taking control of physical health -Going to college/ university Its kind of comforting to know I am not alone, you aren't too. Take it one step at a time that's what works me just thought I could share that advice with you.
indeed. Trying to focus on being holistic instead of getting there quickly!
Indeed, I am in fact procrastinating right now 😅
Smooth fire! Not needlessly bombastic hollow motivation. Calm enough for real deep attention, yet there is that energy in both your delivery and the music choice to me want to build it. And while nothing necessarily new info, the way you broke down how relying solely on motivation can backfire really hit home. Same as diversifying investments for safety in volatile times, or a stable power grid: wind, solar, geothermal, gas, petrol and mah boi NUCLEAR all have their role to play in the team. Nicely done!
Thank you! Really focused on making sure the info was presented in the best mannor I could and I can't wait for the next video!
First
Jackpot! Though I almost died because of you two now XD Sitting on the couch, just finishing dinner... you are at the 27min mark, toxic masculinity, the values and pitfalls of feminism. Thought about recommending/referencing the Chris Williams episode with Konstantin. And like in 2 minutes you are there. Jumped a bit with a 'hell yeah!'... and as great as it felt... wasn't the smartest choice mid-dinner 😂😅
