ajshdgajhsd thank youuuuu, me too i love persona 5 and Joker (and Akechi) so i had to make something for him yesss fanfiction ideas! i let some of my own fanfiction ideas affect this animatic (as you can probably tell from the chorus and shadow Joker at the end), i love getting and spreading inspiration from other fan content thank you so much for the comment!!

And there is few canon times when confidants actually telling Ren that "You are a mirror of sorts". Boy just filled with potential trauma. And about Manga, I hope to start from my Tumblr page. My heart couldn’t handle where Atlus left the state of ShuAke, that's why Akechi will have to deal with consequences of him being a cold bastard.

THANK YOUUU hdgshfgjsd, i did contemplate using a shorter/cut version of the song but i had ideas for a lot of the lyrics and wanted to show progression so boom 5 minute animatic lol. and i’d say it’s worth the time and effort since i enjoyed every second of making it too! yes, i love his voice lines, like his evil sounding laugh with Raoul, his “Die die die!” with Asterius Picaro, he really is a shapeshifter another comment talked about how cool it would’ve been if something that was a familiar game mechanic became a plot point part of the story, and like you said given Joker’s past and story it would make sense. i mean his theme song literally says “I’m a shapeshifter, have no face to show”. i haven’t played the other Persona games yet (about to start P4!) but from what i’ve seen i agree with you. plus it would make that segment in January where Joker has to talk to his friends to bring them out of Maruki’s reality reality hit even harder, since despite building his masks to reflect his friends’ personas. Joker is too kind and selfless to a fault, it’s how the game starts and it’s also how it continues, like he could’ve just kept his head low in Shujin and not gotten involved with Kamoshida but he didn’t i don’t think he particularly cares about being liked, at least in terms of general reputation either, it feels more like he just wants to not be noticed and seem normal - that’s why he wears glasses after all haha. plus it feels like his friends’ happiness and futures are more important to him than being liked by them, that’s why he has to get them out of Maruki’s reality HFJSHF THANK YOU AGAIN!! i’m very biased towards Goro and i loved working on that second verse being able to just focus on the two of them lol and i’m glad you like the outfits!! i had fun designing them hehe, thinking about how they see/want to see Joker, and how Joker thinks they want to see him/reflecting their personalities back at them thanks for watching with subs too! i love it when people notice little stuff like that lolol oh noo well i hope it was worth double the effort because reading long comments like yours make me just explode with joy :,) so thank you thank you TWICE for the lovely comment!!!

is it the player who's a completionist and wants to see every single possible line of dialogue? or is it Joker who keeps resetting it, wanting everything to be completely perfect? each reset his palace grows more and more distorted, he just wants an escape but he also wants his masks and personas to all be perfect. will his palace eventually grow too big to hide? this actually reminds me of a fic i read on AO3! my animatic wasn't inspired by it (it's got less to do with time loops and more to do with intense masking and people pleasing lol) but the fic explores those ideas of NG+ and Joker's palace! it's called A Self Fulfilling Prophecy by danidoesathing if you're interested!

I wouldn't be surprised Joker is a people pleaser because he has a fear of rejection, people started treating him as the plague since the assault accusation it's hard for a teenager to go through that. At least when you help people they like you right ?

me too! i never like it when people say Joker's a self-insert protag with no personality of his own, because the way thing's play out it could almost be argued that's the point in terms of the expectations put on him, the masks he wears, his confidants (plus he does have his own personality, Persona's pretty good at showing it despite having a silent protag). and you're SO RIGHT, P5 characters even awaken by pulling off their mask to reveal their true selves, it feels baked into the mechanics! Joker even wears fake glasses in the real world like a mask, it fits him PERFECTLY omg i LOVE that idea! it feels like a missed opportunity tbh, it'd make Yaldabaoth and the fake Igor plot point feel even more impactful, and it'd make the 3rd semester hit harder, since if in Maruki's reality none of it ever happened then what was the point of all of Joker's masks? he put all that effort and withstood all the pressure only for it to be erased, and for his bond with his friends to weaken due to things out of his control. at the end of December/early Jan when Akechi and Sumi (though arguably to a lesser degree) felt like Joker's only real friends, it really felt to me like Joker was on the brink of breakdown😅 common game mechanics that are taken for granted then being spun into a plot point, is always a great idea, would've been a great way to subvert expectations THANK YOU!!! i put a lot of effort into the designs so i'm glad you appreciate them 🥰 hehe yes! i was thinking of how Maruki wants the Thieves (and especially Joker) to agree with him and work with him, and they are similar in their kindness and lowkey savior complex, but Joker wants to help with and deal with the problems directly, whereas Maruki would rather just erase them. if Joker was more like Maruki, then there would be no conflict in the 3rd semester, which is exactly what Maruki wanted. and in his confidant Joker's like a fellow cognitive psience researcher helping with his paper even though a lot of it's supposed to be counselling sessions. like i love you Maruki, but man poor Joker it's sort of the same with Sojiro, so Joker can be like the 2nd boss of Leblanc, but the implications are less discomforting also THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE APPRECIATION AND SHARING YOUR THOUGHTS! seeing people enjoy and engage with my stuff makes me so happy, you really made my day🥹
