Those babies sure have a lot to say! I heard about something called snilk(aka snake milk) that when they have live birth they will often travel out of the nest and bring food back for the little ones for the first weeks, it seemed like any live bearing snakes like rattlesnakes and copperheads so do they know if red tail boas do that too?

Great info. I have experienced all of it. Mine took about 5-6 years to finally stop biting me (food bites). Once they do stop, they are easily one of the best pet snakes anyone can own. Tough as nails. Your adults are beautiful specimens.

Going to bite the bullet this black Friday and order an 8514. The base for an 8514 is something like $500, versus $140 for a 7030, and they look to be slightly different sizes, which is frustrating.

Your videos have been such a wealth of knowledge for me. Choosing a children’s as my first snake really has felt like its own little niche. He has been so bitey and he is so small and fast. I’m struggling getting into a regular taming routine. I need to start that hook training or just holding him period. I love to watch him cruise around his vines and swim/soak in his water bowl, even eating f/t. Being able to hold him will be the cherry on top. Can’t wait to see your website.

Nice video! Low-key, good info, no ego fluffing. Just straight facts. Much appreciated! Of my two Dums, one will eat anything with a heat signature. The other has taken THREE YEARS to establish as a consistent feeder. I won't bore you with the stuff I had to do to get him to eat but these days he is a typical ferocious eater of both rodents and chicks/quail. They are wonderful snakes, but if a keeper gets a youngster with a shaky food response it can be a real struggle, and this is why many young Dums are put on Craigslist or surrendered to rescues. They can make the pickiest ball python seem easy to deal with, lol.
